Located in Llangynidr, this property is just a short stroll from two popular pubs, both of which offer children’s play areas to keep the whole family entertained. The village, through which the River Usk runs with its ancient stone bridge, is also home to a useful shop for stocking up on supplies and a Post Office. Set out on foot or bicycle and follow the Crickhowell Canal Walk, which runs all the way to Crickhowell (5 miles), passing surrounding hills and countryside along the way. For something more challenging, take on nearby Tor y Foel (5.5 miles) or Myarth (2.5 miles), both of which boast spectacular views from the summits. Take to the water with a visit to Llangorse Lake (6.5 miles), where kayaking and sailing can all be enjoyed.

Inside, this period property is brimming with original charm, from its exposed beams and stonework to its large inglenook fireplace. The delightful kitchen offers an electric oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment, dishwasher, microwave and wine cooler for those long hot summer nights. The inviting sitting room boasts an original stone floor and wood burner set into an original inglenook fireplace and a lovely dining space. It is also the perfect place to curl up in front of the Freeview TV/DVD after a long day on foot. There is a utility room with WC reached via two steps on the ground floor. A flight of stairs lead up from the kitchen to two charming bedrooms with sash windows overlooking the village, one double with antique iron bedstead and stone walls and one twin with exposed oak beams. The bedrooms share a large and light bathroom with shower over the bath and sloping ceilings.

Outside and up a set of steps, a walled enclosed garden with a pretty summerhouse is the perfect spot for enjoying a refreshing glass of wine as the sun goes down. There is roadside parking outside.

This is a beautiful, comfortable and very well equipped cottage in Llangynidr. It had absolutely everything you could need, including a pretty garden to sit in. The owner was very responsive to an issue with cleaning and arrangements made straightaway to rectify the problem. I totally recommend this cottage and hope to book it again,

An excellent cottage for a weeks stay to explore the Brecon area. Everything was there that one would need for a weeks stay. The location was brilliant to get to Brecon, Monmouth and Abergavenny. The garden was very secure for our dogs.
