The property is in an ideal location for the annual Ten Tors event starting point and is also only half a mile from the Okehampton Show ground, which is home to Dartmoor's largest agricultural show in August. Okehampton Castle, the town’s indoor leisure complex and Okehampton Golf Club are all worth a visit. Walkers will enjoy the walks around the reservoirs at nearby Meldon and Roadford, while cyclists can ride the Granite Cycle Way, which can be accessed within a mile of the property. Other local attractions include Lydford Gorge, Morwellham Quay, Castle Drogo, Buckland Abbey and Crealy Adventure Park.

The spacious dining room features a huge dining table to seat up to 13 people, and a wood burner in a large inglenook fireplace with a feature bread oven. The first floor is accessed by two staircases, each located at either end of the house.
