Horning has a choice of independent shops, friendly cafes and traditional riverside pubs, with local activities, including boat hire, paddleboarding and scenic walks. The village sits on the banks of the River Bure, overlooking the Bure Marshes National Nature Reserve. To the west, the market town of Wroxham (3 miles) is known as the Capital of the Broads, and to the east, attractions include St Benet's Abbey and Toad Hole Cottage Museum, both within 4 miles. The historic city of Norwich and the secluded resort of Sea Palling are both within 12 miles.
