This beautifully updated and spacious former barn overlooks the East Devon countryside and sits just 2 miles away from the world-famous Jurassic Coast, offering a perfect base for families and groups of friends. Lovers of beach days, coastal walks and water sports are totally spoiled with a wide choice of nearby shorelines. Seaton Beach (4 miles) is renowned for its glorious views, crystal-clear waters, and fossil-hunting opportunities. This stretch of coastline is part of the Axmouth to Lyme Regis Undercliffs National Nature Reserve – fascinating for its wildlife and geological significance. Cross into Dorset to spend a day in Lyme Regis (3 miles), home to a sheltered beach, boat trips from its historic harbour, and a good choice of places to eat, drink and shop. Inland, the ancient city of Exeter is within 26 miles, as are the charming towns of Honiton, Axminster, and Ottery Saint Mary.

Follow the rural track down to this peaceful property, and before stepping inside, take a moment to appreciate its chic timber cladding and the far-reaching countryside views. Head in, kick off your shoes in the hallway, throw muddy outdoor gear in the utility room, and walk through to the fantastic open-plan kitchen/diner. This light-drenched space combines a contemporary kitchen with a sleek dining area and restful snug – all smartly arranged beneath a vaulted ceiling. Find all you need in the long kitchen area to cook up Devonshire feasts, which can be enjoyed at the table beside the window or alfresco out on the patio. As dinner sizzles, a snug in one corner means you can keep the chef company while keeping warm beside the double-sided wood burner that also serves the adjacent lounge. The lounge invites you to unwind; sink into the soft seating, flick on the Smart TV, or simply gaze out at the far-reaching rural views. When it's time to retire for the night, the hallway leads to three charming bedrooms. Choose from a super-king-size room with an en-suite shower room (this room converts to a twin on request), an airy double bedroom, and a sweet bunk room. Completing the property is a stylish family shower room with a walk-in shower and WC.

Step outside each day and make full use of the fantastic garden space. Offering a large, sloping lawn for games under the sun as well as two furnished patios, this is the best spot to gather for scenic morning coffees and al fresco evening drinks and meals. For a unique ending to each day – whatever the weather – the lovely large square outdoor tub has beautiful summer sunset views (please note it is not heated). Guests will also benefit from off-road parking for four cars, making arrivals and day trips a breeze.
