This is a lovingly restored Grade II-listed building dating back to 1871. Explore the countryside and enjoy the local amenities on your doorstep in the attractive town of Corwen with pubs, eateries, and shops. Walk or cycle the trails from the town, including Pen Y Pigyn, and into the Berwyn Mountains. Travel on the scenic Heritage Railway to visit the vibrant town of Llangollen offering a wide range of shops, restaurants, and leisure activities, or hop off at one of the three stations in between. Explore the Dee Valley and visit Horseshoe Falls and Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (10 miles), both World Heritage sites. Take a day trip to historic Ruthin, sail on Bala Lake (both 12 miles), or venture into Snowdonia National Park with its bustling gateway town of Betws-y-Coed (22 miles), imposing mountains and attractions such as Zip World, Bounce Below and Snowdonia Adventure Park.

Pass through the original barred gate into the wide cell corridor leading to the old cells, now converted into luxury accommodation with your comfort in mind with features including underfloor heating and a cosy log burner. To the right is the games room with a football table and Pac Man, and a utility boot room with a washing machine, fridge/freezer, and plenty of space for your outdoor clothes and boots. There is also a useful wet room with a shower and WC on this floor. Walk through to the fabulous kitchen with granite worksurfaces which is well-equipped with a range cooker with a five-ring gas hob and electric ovens, fridge, microwave, Tassimo coffee machine and dishwasher. It is a lovely space to rustle up a meal overlooking the private courtyard formerly used for the prisoners' daily exercise. Head through to the spacious lounge/diner with interesting features and plenty of space for everyone to gather around the dining table and enjoy your meal whilst planning your holiday activities. After dinner, relax on the comfortable sofas, watch the Smart TV or just catch up on each other’s news by the glow of the wood burner on cosy nights in. Maybe test your skill on the football table in the games room. When ready for bed there are four fabulous bedrooms to choose from – all super-king size beds (two of which can be made as twins on request). Also on this floor, there is the stylish bathroom with shower over bath and WC, and the shower room with shower and a WC.

The enclosed gated garden has Welsh stone walls with a hot tub, table and benches, feature charcoal BBQ, and feature lighting. It is a unique space to relax and enjoy al fresco dining or pre-dinner drinks. There is also enough space to store your paddleboards or other sports equipment. You will find an outside hot tap, ideal for washing down bikes. The property has two tandem parking spaces at the rear. Please note that the charging of electric vehicles is not permitted or facilitated at the property. The nearest charge points are just a minute's walk from the property in the public car park.

Lovely property, lots of character with some of the old police station features retained. Even though in the centre of Corwen the high walls around the garden make it feel private. Town centre is on the door step, so pub, takeaways, small supermarkets, cafe's and a great bakery all within a few minutes walk. Would happily stay again.

Parking for two was a huge advantage.on arrival we were met by Ian.a very pleasant man he is who showed us around the old police station and explained how to work the hottub etc. The courtyard is very private with high walls and ample seating area for outside dining etc The kitchen is like brand new and well equipped. Having s utility room and gaRead moremes room was a bonus.there is a downstairs walk in shower room which is ideal for when you need the toilet and don't want to go upstairs or if you want a shower after being in the hot tub. Upstairs is another shower (cubicle) and toilet.also the upstairs has a bath with shower over it so in total the property has three toilets and three showers so you'll never be waiting to use either.the beds are super comfy, some hard for those who like your bed that way and some soft so a nice mixture, all good quality beds may I add.pillows are often rubbish in holiday lets but not here.they are lush.the living room is very large and again expense has not been spared on furnishings.the three settees are all high quality and comfy.the huge dining table meant eight people would be able to eat at the same time. Location is superb.2 minute walk from a mini supermarket.1 minute from a fish & chip shop, cafes and various village shops. Hide

Beautiful cottage with lots of original features within walking distance of local shops. The old exercise yard was very private and the hot tub was great and very well maintained. Ian met us on arrival and was very helpful. I found the sprung mattress quite uncomfortable being used to memory foam. EXCELLENT! The COP was an amazing find for our group of four hikers. The history of the structure is front and center, from the heavy iron barred doors and heavy wooden cell doors left in place, to the original exercise yard (the hot tub garden). This was our eighth such trip in the past ten years and although we have stayed in very good cottages eRead morevery time, the COP is number one. Last of all, Ian, the host, is a great source of local info and touring ideas, and just an all-round nice guy. Hide

A beautiful, historic and interesting building in a great location for exploring the wider area. Corwen is a nice town which has all the essentials in terms of places to buy provisions and places to eat/drink. The Old Police Station is beautifully presented and quiet (thanks to good secondary glazing) notwithstanding its position on the main road.
