Enjoying a secluded spot in the heart of a valley, this cosy, adults-only barn conversion is the perfect retreat for lovers of the outdoors, set within acres of established gardens, ancient woodlands and farmland. Offering a truly unforgettable stay in a unique and magical setting, guests can take in the unusual sights and sounds while walking through the grounds. Linger by the water garden and enjoy the outdoor pool with a backdrop of established gardens. And for those that wish to explore, there is the Forest of Dean, take in the bluebells in springtime, the greenery in summer and the rich golden valleys in autumn. The sculpture trail at Beechenhurst (9 miles) showcases local arts and craft. Why not hire a canoe and head down stream? Test your limits at Go Ape (9 miles) or visit the market town of Ross-on-Wye with its historic market square (3.5 miles).

Take a moment to soak up the valley and landscaped gardens before arriving at your front door, wooden and traditional in style with an inviting hallway that will lead you up the stairs to your cosy retreat. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with solid wooden floors exposed beams and white-washed walls is the perfect backdrop for the soft furnishings that are rich in colour and texture. Shut out the world and sink into the sofas with a good book or your favourite movie. The hand-crafted dark wood kitchen sits to the side of the room which is well-equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. When it’s time for bed, take a few steps down into the king-size four poster tree bed fit for a king and queen, finished with pure linen bed linen and colourful throws. The en-suite shower room has WC and a large, luxury shower.  Adjacent to the entrance of Kune Kune there is separate access to The Stable which provides an additional double bedroom and en-suite shower room.  Ideal if you have guests or want to invite friends along to this beautiful retreat.  Please enquire at the time of booking if you are interested in booking The Stable.

Step outside to enjoy the shared grounds and after a day’s exploring sink into the private hot tub in the glass-fronted room, with valley views and reindeer to keep you entertained. Watch the sunset from your private balcony and enjoy the paddock views. On sunny days, spend time in the outdoor pool (available between 30th April and 30th September, and solar heated during July and August), and wander around the English country gardens and acres of woodlands.  Although holiday guests are not able to go into the exotic rescue centre, which is located on the same site, there is a backdrop of exotic animal sounds and some glimpses in the fields and woodlands, amongst the many farm animals and donkeys. The income from the holiday business is directly used to fund the rescue centre.  For further details search WildSide Exotic Rescue Forest of Dean.

Lovely position overlooking the rescued animals. Well appointed and very comfortable. Easy access to Herefordshire, Monmouth and surrounding area. Lots to see and do. Steps to access the property and a large step to access the balcony which were not clear before visit. We did not use the hot tub or pool due to a cooler week than expected for the tiRead moreme of year. Friendly and approachable owners. We were fortunate to be present for the first open day for the animal centre. It was a wonderful well organised and informative day. Hide

Simply wonderful! We have already booked our return visit for next year. From the moment we arrived, we were able to relax. Peaceful paradise with a purpose. Great accommodation, easy to find, great views and nice to know your stay serves a purpose by re homing animals that have been mistreated. Nice to have a hot tub and pool. Cannot fault and will return one day.

Beautiful surroundings, looking out the window of our excellent accommodation at many different animals. Greeted by owner who had helped up to get there after a nightmare journey & met us with a basket of fresh goodies. Could not fault anything. Hopefully we can visit again next year.
