The world-famous city of Oxford with its university dates to 1188 and produced some of the planet’s greatest minds. Visitor attractions include many of the city’s beautiful buildings such as The Bodleian Library, The Sheldonian Theatre and The Ashmolean Museum, all of which are incredible. The views across the rooftops from Carfax Tower or the church tower of St Mary the Virgin are well worth the hundreds of stairs you need to climb! Don’t forget the camera. Take a trip along the river from Folly Bridge to pretty Iffley Lock; walk through Christchurch Meadows or jump on a ‘hop on hop off’ open top bus. There are hundreds of places of interest to experience when you stay at one of our Oxfordshire holiday cottages, set within 4-acres of riverside grounds at the very edge of Oxford.
On arrival at the property, through a spacious entrance hall, guests can find a large open plan living area. The lounge/kitchen/diner looks out over a large lawn area and a comfortable veranda. The lounge area has comfortable seating and TV and DVD player to unwind in front of at the end of the day. On the other side of the living space is a dining area with a table for six diners. The kitchen comes equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, hi-fi and fridge/freezer. There is a utility room for those that wish to make use of washing machine and separate tumble dryer. The three bedrooms include two doubles, one of which contains a queen-size bed and access to an en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. The third bedroom is a twin. Nearby is the main bathroom with a shower over the bath.
Outside the lodge is a shared lawn and access to four acres of riverside gardens. Full of bird life and wildlife it’s an area to kick back and relax, reflect on the day’s exploration or making plans for the rest of the stay in Oxford. Some lodges in the complex have riverside views, while each has a private garden area with furniture and a BBQ, and access to the riverside gardens which are set behind a private gated entrance. A punt or fishing can be arranged in advance (please enquire), as well as weekly cleaning, secretarial, and an advance grocery services order.
