The village of Hartington boasts a cheese shop, popular pub and 17th century Hartington Hall.

An impressive entrance hall welcomes you into this spectacular property and guides you to the dining room on your right. With seating for eight people, a log burning stove and views across the gardens to Dovedale, this is the perfect room in which to celebrate a special occasion. Next door, the traditional farmhouse style kitchen is a bright and airy space, with wooden flooring, a high beamed ceiling, range cooker and large dining table. The sitting room has been decorated in warm colours to create a cosy and welcoming space, also with a log burning stove.  There is also a large utility room on this floor with the table football and a downstairs toilet.

The first floor can be accessed by either of the two flights of stairs, which lead up to the bedrooms. The gallery landing makes a useful occasional sitting area with its beamed vaulted ceiling, pretty window and grand banister. The four main bedrooms are located off this landing, three of which are doubles, one with twin beds. These rooms have been individually decorated to provide unique characters and enjoy spectacular rural views. These rooms share a bathroom with shower, bath and WC and a further separate shower room and WC.

The other flight of stairs will bring you to the second floor, where the remaining two bedrooms are located. One with three single beds and the other a bunk bed and double bed, these have a shared bathroom with bath and WC between them, this floor is perfect for children or teenagers.

To the front of the house, the beautifully manicured gardens include a sunny patio area with table and chairs, well presented lawns and dry stone wall borders, over which guests can enjoy stunning views of the hills beyond.

This was a perfect place for a family gathering in summer. Plenty of outdoor space for playing or just sitting and admiring the beautiful views, with the possibility of country walks from the door. Well equipped kitchen.

An excellent location for our group of 12 including six children age 18 down to 5. Isolated house with a fabulous garden and plenty of room for the young ones to run around in. House was well equipped and the owner very accessible when needed.

Beautiful house and garden in a wonderfully quiet and secluded setting. Perfect place and location for a large family gathering (7 adults, 2 children), with table-tennis and table-football enjoyed, together with lovely walks on bridal paths and farm tracks along the river valley. We visited in mid-September, but would recommend it to anyone in any Read moreseason. Hide
