Enjoy tranquil downtime together in this comfortable barn conversion with uninterrupted countryside views. Located in the village of Willerby on the owner’s livestock farm, the property provides a great base for a couple to explore this beautiful area of Yorkshire on foot, bike or by car. It’s also ideally positioned for the North Yorkshire Moors, where you can spot the NYMR steam train, and for exploring the Yorkshire Wolds. Walk or cycle parts of the 79‑mile Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail, with various access points within 4 miles of the cottage — perfect for donning your boots and heading out into big‑sky countryside. Filey, a former fishing village 8 miles away, offers a sandy beach, a walk out along Filey Brigg, and quaint seaside‑town vibes for a nostalgic visit. Better‑known coastal stalwarts are an option too: Whitby, with its abbey and jet jewellery, lies 27 miles north, while Scarborough with its two bays and castle ruins is just 8.5 miles from the house. The property also conveniently sits on the scenic Coastliner bus route to Scarborough, York and Leeds, making it wonderfully placed for exploring both seaside favourites and inland gems.

Step into the property via a useful entrance hallway with all‑important hanging space for coats and boots. The spacious lounge leads off here, featuring attractive exposed beams and a vaulted ceiling with skylights that enhance the airy feel. Patio doors open directly from the lounge onto the south‑facing garden, flooding the room with natural light and making it easy to drift outside on sunny days. With a wood burner, Smart TV, music system, a collection of games and books, and stunning views of the garden and pastureland beyond, there’s something to enjoy here in all seasons. The airy and modern kitchen/diner is reached via another step and offers all mod cons and plenty of room to cook or prepare food, complete with table and chairs. From here, one step leads up into a handy utility room with a sink, suspended drying rack and washing machine. At the other end of the barn is a lovely bedroom with a zip‑and‑link super‑king‑size bed (which can be a twin on request), built‑in wardrobes, a Smart TV, and an adjacent shower room with WC.

Outside, this charming property boasts a large, south‑facing enclosed patio area at the back with garden furniture and a gas BBQ — perfect for relaxed al fresco meals — along with wide countryside views across the farm’s pastureland. Sit back and soak up the peace of this rural idyll on a working farm. There’s plenty of private parking and access to a large grass area ideal for exercising your furry companions.

The accommodation was excellent. Very comfortable clean and well equipped and in a peaceful location. Everything provided for a nice holiday break. The owners were very friendly and helpful. There were walks available right from the door with a lot more not far away. We would highly recommend a visit, especially if you are a nature lover or interesRead moreted in bird life, but also it is only a short drive to Scarborough and Filey if you like the beach, Les and Hazel Hide

We had a wonderful short break in this lodge. We would recommend it to anyone. It is within easy reach of all resorts and add to that if you don't want to cook there are quite a few places to eat nearby but don't take just our word for it, book it and enjoy
