A welcoming rural hideaway, this appealing cottage enjoys a superb position in the peaceful village of Kingston, 4 miles from Modbury. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom cottage makes an idyllic base for couples and small families eager to explore the beautiful inland and coastal landscapes of South Devon. Venture 3 miles to the sea at Ayrmer Cove, with its secluded sandy beach and rockpools. Connect here with the South West Coast Path or follow a 3-mile circular walk along lanes once frequented by smugglers and through the scenic Ringmore Valley. Bigbury Beach, 5 miles away, is more family friendly and popular for wind and kite surfing. The historic market town of Kingsbridge, 10 miles away, is excellent for shopping and dining out. There is also a swimming pool and a cinema. Plan a trip to the historic, maritime city of Plymouth, 14 miles away.

Climb four steps up to the front gate of the cottage and cross the front garden to take another two steps up to enter the charming property. Unwind in the lovely beamed lounge, which marries rustic cottage character with modern-day comfort. Sink back into the comfortable seating to rest and recuperate after your latest exhilarating excursion. Light a fire in the wood burner during the colder months, then choose a board game to set up or find a film on the Smart TV. The dining room, which conveniently adjoins the lounge, is the perfect place for a hand or two of cards, as well as to gather for your delicious holiday meals. The adjacent kitchen is a charming, well-equipped space for self-catering. There are some internal steps between ground-floor spaces. Carefully climb the cottage-style stairs up from the lounge to discover your enticing bedrooms. With a fresh, airy appeal, the king-size and the bunk room both promise a restful night’s sleep. The family bathroom, with a bath and a shower, is also up here.

Make the most of your small outside space to the front of the cottage on warm days. Dine out here or share a bottle of wine as you soak up the summer sun. Parking for this property is on the street, subject to availability.
