This is a very spacious and comfortable cottage. Enclosed garden is great for the dog. Ideally situated, short walk into Wareham with its Saturday market and boat trips / hire, the pub on the quay is excellent. Wareham is on the main railway line to Bournemouth Winchester and Londoon. The cottage is only a few miles from Corfe Castle and steam traiRead moren, Studland with long sandy beach, Kimmeridge and fossil museum, and Arne RSPB nature reserve. Wareham itself has an interesting history dating back to Saxon times and has links to TE Lawrence of Arabia. The cider and clock museum is worth a visit at Owermoigne - great farm cider!! Hide

Lovely location and really noisy if you like bird song! Some issues but Lorraine tried her best to help. Considerate to extent re our health issues re cancer. Certain issues need addressing but minor unless raised with Lorraine - hey why would they think to check lighting on change over!

We had a really lovely time at sto away barn. The location is perfect to get around east and parts of west Dorset. We were pleasantly surprised by the welcome pack of a bottle of milk, wine, biscuits, tea and coffee, all of which we used. This property is ideally located in a peaceful location to visit the many attractions of east Dorset. It is very comfortable & well equipped with everything you will need to enjoy your stay. There is also a secuded garden with a raised decking area.

THERE WERE 2NO. PROBLEMS WITH THE PLUMBING. 1. THE SHOWER HEAD IN THE ON SUITE BEDROOM WAS LOOSE AND WOULD NOT STAY IN POSITION AND WAS THEREFORE TEMPORARILY REPAIRED USING CABLE TIES. 2. THE BATHROOM WASH HAND BASIN PLUG DID NOT CONTAIN THE WATER AND WOULD THEREFORE NEED REPAIRING SO AS TO AVOID WASTING WATER. 3 wall lights in living area do not work - faulty light switch. A leather sofa has a tear with the suffing poking out, plus 2 bald patches where previous heads had worn away the bonded leather. The oven shelves & bottom of oven were black with burnt on food. The fridge smelt strongly of bleach, needed wiping/cleaning before putting food inside.. A very well equipped property in a private and off road position. Rooms are spacious and light and there is ample parking and outdoor garden space for relaxing , eating etc.

My second stay here and just as lovely the second time around. Great location for those without a car (or just to save driving, petrol and parking money) with the local bus stop only a few yards from the door. The cottage is perfect for dog owners as there are numerous walks direct from the door. We realy enjoyed ourselves. The tv is fine but you do need to be patient and let it warm up. I would recommend the cottage, it was well stocked, beds comfortable. My only concern was that it needed a deep clean as spiders were in every crevice. Behind sofa and bed was filthy and I had a massive spider visit in my bed at night.

The layout of the kitchen/dining area/patio is very good for socialising. Kitchen excellent & well-stocked. Apparently its the policy to keep most items new or nearly new. Good welcome pack. The whole place was spotlessly clean with good quality furnishings overall. Bedrooms small; beds and sofas right for 5 adults rather than 6. This could be a 5* cottage if the garden and the perimeters of the cottage are addressed. This is the only reason for the reduced rating. The bedrooms at the back were dark and the vegitation/hedges too high and too close all around the cottage. Our neighbour were able to sit in the sunshine anytime yet we seemed to need the lights on in the cottagRead moree even during the day. The cottage is in an excellent location for visiting that part of Dorset. Its ideal for 2 couples and for dogs, the park opposite was a real bonus for morning and evening walks. The owner was very helpful and friendly.

This is our favourite property, after staying in many Dorset cottages over the years. It is all on one level , easily accessible,has plenty of parking space and relaxation space outdoors xith two picnic tables one on grass and one on decking.
