Just a mile from the cottage lies the village of Belford, home to a well-equipped Co-op store, a local history museum, several inviting pubs, a classic fish and chip shop, and Sunnyhills Farm Shop, renowned for its popular restaurant. The cottage's ideal location places it conveniently between the bustling town of Alnwick, with its famous castle and gardens, and the historic border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. Furthermore, you'll find yourself close to the majestic Cheviot Hills and the historic St. Cuthbert's Way pilgrimage route, including St. Cuthbert's Cave, offering truly amazing walks in stunning scenery. The popular seaside and country villages of Seahouses, Beadnell, Newton-by-the-Sea, Craster, and Wooler are all within easy reach, presenting a wealth of experiences, including history, outdoor activities, and charming seaside and market towns. On clear nights, step into the garden and marvel at the stars shining brightly in Northumberland's renowned dark skies where the aurora is often visible.

Step into this inviting home, where a cosy lounge beckons with comfortable seating and a feature stone fireplace housing a traditional wood burner (logs provided), promising warmth and ambiance. A Smart TV and a thoughtfully curated selection of books, games, and jigsaws ensure entertainment for all ages. The charming stone-flagged kitchen diner offers a lovely dining area with a farmhouse-style table and bench seating, perfect for shared meals. The well-equipped kitchen boasts a Smeg double oven, induction hob, retro-style fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, and toaster, catering to all your culinary needs. A convenient utility space houses a washer and dryer. Exploring the ground floor further, you'll find a small, prettily furnished single bedroom with views of the garden and countryside. There is also a shower room with a walk-in shower with a grab rail and WC.
Ascend the stairs to the master bedroom, a tranquil retreat featuring a king-size bed and stunning coastal vistas, including views of Holy Island. A thoughtfully positioned spotting scope allows you to observe the landscape in detail, where you might see visitors climbing the steps of the castle on Holy Island or even a seal or two. This room also boasts a fully tiled en-suite bathroom with a bath and WC. The delightful third bedroom, with its versatile zip-and-link beds, can be configured as a super king-size bed or twin singles, and enjoys serene woodland views with an en-suite WC.

Step outside to discover an enclosed lawn garden with a stone-flagged patio area, where sweeping views extend across the rolling countryside, across to Holy Island and the wider landscape. Additionally, a log cabin-style games room provides hours of entertainment and laughter, featuring a pool table for friendly competition, a table tennis setup for fast-paced rallies, a table football game for thrilling matches, a dartboard for sharp-shooting fun, and an iPod dock to set the mood with your favourite tunes. All this, while enjoying great views and the comfort of electric heating.

A rear enclosed patio area provides access to the log store and secure, padlock-protected storage for bikes and equipment. A dedicated dog wash area, complete with tethers and a warm water tap, is ideal for cleaning off sandy paws and muddy boots.

Some of the photographs of the property are misleading because the interior was shabby and not as shown, no TV in rear bedroom as shown, sitting room side tables not as shown and no welcome basket in the kitchen as shown. The downstairs shower room had silverfish running across the floor and a toothbrush holder had black slime inside and went straight into the dishwasher. Apart from the propertys location and view from the rear which were great, the property was a huge disappointment, and we left a day early. Hide

The view from the cottage is fabulous, with Holy Island and the sea. The cottage has most things you need. We booked it for 25th Anniversary and also because it was "dog friendly". I think the cottage guide needs to be updated, and also I would suggest better language - I think the 'threat' of expulsion if you don't clean up the dog's mess immediatRead moreely is very poor. Games room is a nice touch. Overall the place needs a little updating. At present overpriced in my view, but we had a good time. Hide

Beautiful area, and a very cosy cottage. We had a problem with the heating, but the caretaker sorted it really quickly and phoned the next day again to make sure everything was ok. Customer service excellent! Spotlessly clean and had everything we needed.

Cottage is on a fairly busy road making access from the parking area quite hazardous. Directions to cottage were difficult and need to be more accurate especially if arriving at night as we did. Lovely warm cottage and comfortable with good shower and hot water.

A wonderfully charming old cottage well equiped and well placed for so many castles and beaches. Cozy and welcoming for us and our dogs. We thought the games room a clever touch for adults and children. There are plenty of safe dog parks within 15-20 mins drive which our dofs loved. We would happily revisit..
