Lovely clean, peaceful cottage in a stunning location overlooking fields. Surrounded by local footpaths, ideal for walkers. Excellent local pub in the village and others in the nearby vicinity. Ideal for a 'get away from it all' break although the towns of Sherborne, Blandford, Dorchester and Weymouth are only a short drive away.

The bungalow was in a very isolated place, lovely views, and very peaceful. Nice to see the cows & crows out of the lounge sliding doors. The milk, butter, biscuits & dog biscuits found on our arrival were much appreciated. The garden fence very secure for our greyhound ( a gate near the door was the only low spot we had to monitor) Facilities wereRead more good, comfy beds, and an easy to use shower. Sadly we had lots of rain virtually everyday, so we spent time together playing cards & watching DVD's. There's a useful basket of leaflets of local tourist attractions to look through, but check on-line before heading out, leaflets are a bit dated. Having never used a log burner, we didn't want to start with the one in the bungalow, so we got a bit chilly a couple of times. We went along to the local Fox restaurant three times, food was delicious, the place & staff very nice, very welcoming to dogs too. The farm shop opposite The Fox was a bit disappointing. It was a shop on a farm rather than a farm shop, but stocks all the basics you might want. Some people in the guest book mentioned the restaurant was a short walk away, but personally we think this wasn't the case. The owners, who live in the attached property next door, were very friendly, and helpful. A nice place to relax away from it all. Hide

We felt v secure having Neil and Linda next door - they went well above and beyond when there was a problem with the TV but weren't at all intrusive. The bungalow is spacious and comfortable with a very secure garden for dogs. Plus, we had a firework free week despite staying on November 5. Many interesting places to visit incl. Studland Bay (KnollRead more Beach), Kingston Lacy (NT), Lyme, Weymouth, Salisbury. Food at The Fox Inn, Ansty was v good and great value (set menu - under 20 for 2 courses). Hide

We have stayed in many cottages over the years but this one rates as one of the best! It was spotlessly clean throughout, and fully equipped with everything we needed during the week.
