We enjoyed our stay in Simonstone. The positives: It was well positioned in Ambleside and only a short walk to shops and places to eat. It was useful to have our own parking space. It was generally well equipped and mostly clean. A few niggles with room for improvement: The edges of the main living area had not been vacuumed there werRead moree food crumbs near the kitchen cupboards and flies on the floor near the windows/doors. The freezer needs to be defrosted. The empty kitchen drawers need cleaning. The guest information booklet states that manuals for kitchen appliances are in a kitchen drawer they were nowhere to be found. It took us a while to figure out how to use the oven! The guest information booklet states that a supply of washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets are supplied there was neither. It would be useful if oven gloves were supplied. Hide
