This fabulous semi-detached home is ideally situated to visit the best sites and attractions the Isle of Wight has to offer. The south-east coast, which is closest to the property, offers an array of stunning seaside resorts including Ryde (2.5 miles) and Fishbourne (2.5 miles). Enjoy the local beaches or tuck into delicious dishes that the local restaurants and cafes have to offer. The home is also on the doorstep of some fantastic family attractions including Robin Hill Country Park. Or take them on the historic Isle of Wight Railway, a short walk from the house. Visitors who love outdoor pursuits will find plenty to do, exploring the extensive network of quiet country roads, footpaths, bridleways and cycle tracks that are assessable from the doorstep. And dog owners can enjoy lovely, circular walks around Firestone Copse which is the forest visible from the property’s terrace.

Upon entering the cottage, guests are greeted by a large open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a cosy area where guests can relax in front of the wood burner after a day of adventure. The dining table folds out to seat all guests comfortably. Heading through to the well-equipped kitchen, there are all the amenities needed to cook delicious meals which can be served in the dining area or outside on the balcony. These include an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher. Coming back through the lounge and into the hallway will provide entrances to both bedrooms and the family bathroom. The master bedroom features a king-size bed, radio and ample storage space, whilst the twin room holds two standard single beds, again with ample storage. Directly opposite the twin bedroom is the family bathroom containing a shower over the bath and WC.

This property is blessed with some outstanding outdoor space. Admiring the horses in the paddocks that back onto the long garden and watching the sun sink behind the forest and the towers of Queen Victoria’s Osbourne House is sure to delight all ages. Directly outside the property is the balcony terrace which provides comfortable outdoor seating and a dining table. Heading down the external stairway brings you to an additional wooden seating area with BBQ. Let the chef of choice cook up a storm whilst children burn some energy down on the grassed area below. The driveway contains space for one car.

The main issue was the garden which was basically unusable due to no maintenance, probably over the last few years.

We would unquestionably recommend Santa Maria to anyone wanting a break from the main land. The Isle of Wight still somehow maintains a delightful atmosphere of having been caught in a time warp.

We had a wonderful stay at this holiday cottage. The location is quiet and peaceful, with absolutely stunning views, yet still really easy to get to. The cottage is very clean and comfortable and the owner was very helpful. Sitting on the veranda to the rear was very relaxing and there are beautiful views to the far distance. The main road out the front is very busy and can be quite noisy. Parking is somewhat difficult as trying to get out from the steep driveway can be difficult, especially if Read moreyou drive down it. Wonderful cottage to stay in. So very comfortable. Loved sitting on the top veranda looking at the gorgious view. The owner Paul was extremely helpful and the provisions provided on our arrival were fantastic, especially the Lemon drizzle cake.

The cottage is impeccably clean, welcome pack with cake was very thoughtful and very tasty after a long journey. Kitchen well equipped with many utensils and appliances. Santa Maria is a very clean and tidy property with everything that you will need for a holiday. There is a stunning view from the rear of the property with a large sheltered terrace as well as a further patio area with a BBQ which is great when the sun is shining. A real highlight was sitting on the patio enjoying the view and sunsets. The owner quickly responded to a couple of problems. The bungalow is light, airy & well equipped. To reflect the photos shown, the garden needs attention. There are steps down to the lower terrace from the patio. We had a lovely stay at Santa Maria. The bungalow has everything you need. We loved the sitting out area and the view over Firestone Copse. Also super comfy beds which is always a plus.! The owner was very helpful when we had problems with the WiFi and very knowledgeable about the area. The cake was a lovely surprise on arrival!
