Harking back to 1760, this fantastic cottage is an important part of the area’s rich past. The property is within a stone’s throw of the river, ideal for those wishing to get active with kayaking, canoeing, walking and riding on offer. Those eager to admire the views can explore the miles of New Forest beauty on your doorstep, stopping off in many pubs and cafes along the way. Back through the kitchen, reach a charming double bedroom with handsome lancet windows. The lounge/diner, also accessible via the kitchen, runs the length of the property and is yours to relax in on every evening. Find a Smart TV, Bluetooth radio and the wood burner effect electric fire next to plenty of comfy seating.

Head out from the lounge or kitchen into the enclosed garden, where a table and chairs provide the perfect space to enjoy a relaxed breakfast or evening drinks. The garden wraps around the property and has a covered seating area to the front, which has wonderful views of the river. An unenclosed pond sits to the side of the property (care to be taken with children and dogs) and there’s an external utility room that houses a freezer, a washing machine and a tumble dryer.

Beautiful cottage, with a lovely private garden, in a tranquil location overlooking the estuary. Lots of walks literally on the doorstep and a good pub nearby. The cottage is cosy and well equipped and had everything we needed for a relaxing week. The wild life in the garden was like something out of Beatrix Potter.

This cottage is the best we have stayed in. Comfortable, clean & excellent location. You have a private parking area at the end of the beautiful garden. Sitting in the garden with the birds singing ( we identified 15 some we had never heard before) & rabbits hopping by was wonderful. Bucklers Hard is literally 4 minutes walk away & serves delicious food & drink . Staff are so friendly too. Somebody in another review complained about people looking into the cottage& yes there is a footpath which runs from Bucklers Hard to Beaulieu but in front of the cottage there is a small terrace before the footpath & yes people do look in but not right up to the window. Its a beautiful historic cottage & the people we met were curious & friendly especially after reading the history notice to the side of the cottage. They do not impose at all so please dont let it put you off this beautiful cottage!! Hide
