  • Charming Grade II listed cottage set in the heart of a beautiful rural Dorset village
  • A cosy getaway surrounded by rolling countryside and scenic walks
  • Within easy reach of the stunning Jurassic Coast which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Property code: OC-76433

Set in a terrace of cottages, this quintessential English cottage dates from the 1740's and is ideally situated for exploring both the surrounding chocolate box villages and the beautiful Jurassic coastline. Nearby Bridport has a choice of restaurants, pubs and shops for those essential supplies as well as a thriving selection of shops selling antiques and vintage curios, should you wish to seek out some treasures. Take a trip to West Bay, made famous by the BBC series Broadchurch and admire the sandy beach and stunning cliffs that line it. With great routes for walking and cycling leading directly from the property, there is something here for everyone.

Two steps take you from the pavement to the entrance door into this terraced cottage, where there is room to leave your coats and boots in the hallway. A further step takes you into a charming lounge/diner, which is the perfect welcoming and cosy space in which to relax. This characterful room has a Smart TV and a stunning inglenook fireplace, so why not put your favourite programme on and unwind, before enjoying a home cooked meal in the adjacent dining area. Set to the back of the cottage is the kitchen, which has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and a washing machine. The bathroom leads from the kitchen and has a shower over bath and WC. Heading back into the lounge a door leads to the winding cottage style stairs, which rise to the first floor. Here you will find a pretty double bedroom set to the front of the cottage and a cosy single bedroom overlooking the garden. Due to the age of the property there are low beams, vaulted ceilings and changes in level peppered throughout, which only adds to its character and charm.

Venturing outside to the pretty terraced rear garden you will find a fully enclosed space with steps leading up to numerous levels and a lovely seating area at the top. This tranquil spot is ideal for enjoying a drink or light meal outdoors. Roadside parking can be found to the front of the cottage, subject to availability.

Such a pretty cottage, really well equipped. I'd got used to taking a few things with me but didn't need any of them for this one. Shame the pub was shut until the day we left but it was easy to do our own catering in this kitchen.

Lovely cottage. Very clean with everything you need. The beds were very comfortable and we slept very well. The garden is well fenced and secure for our dog to roam. The village is very pretty and you're opposite a lovely pub. A great base to explore beautiful Dorset.

Libra Cottage is clean, cosy and comfortable. We loved sitting at the top of the terraced garden and admiring the view. The cottage is well equipped and there are some lovely walks around the village, a good short walk to the weir in the morning pleased our dogs and some longer rambles to be had too. Shame the Loders Arms was open so intermittentlyRead more during the week. The owners left delicious cake and milk to be consumed with a cup of tea on arrival, which was perfect. Hide

This cottage is cosy and comfortable with all the amenities you could possibly need. I stayed here with my husband and three month old daughter and the owners were so accommodating, offering a spare blanket to keep the little one warm and keeping the radiators on all night as the evenings were cold. We were visiting friends who lived in the villageRead more so the location was perfect, situated right outside a pub which was very quiet due to the season. Overall we had a very pleasant stay. Hide

We spent a month at Libra cottage and it was wonderful. The cottage has everything you need, we went in the winter and it was super cosy. The village of Loders is very friendly, there are lots of footpaths on the village for some great scenic walks and of course the beaches are not far away. A perfect place to stay.

Nice cottage in a lovely village. Great dog walks without the need to drive anywhere, but a very short drive to multiple lovely coastal spots. The stairs are a bit challenging, and the garden is up quite steep steps.

Really enjoyed our time at Libra cottage. Quaint cottage in a lovely village setting. The original features of this thatched cottage add to its appeal and the owners touches are sympathetic and in keeping with what you would expect.
