Property code: OC-G0173

Sympathetically restored, original features such as exposed beams, stone floors and quirky windows hark back to the cottage's agricultural heritage. However, with its neutral tones, warm wood and high vaulted ceilings, it is light, airy and spacious with a charming, contemporary, cottage style. Located in Farndale (known for its daffodil walk each spring) in the North York Moors, approx. 8 miles North of Kirkbymoorside, there are 600 square miles of beautiful, heather-covered countryside to explore by foot or by car. The National Park is also home to a wealth of market towns and villages with tearooms, cafes, pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets, including foodies' haven, Helmsley (14 miles), and Pickering (16 miles).

On arrival, take time to admire the attractive exterior and position of this property; immediately, you will notice the attention to detail. As you enter, you will discover the open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area, which is a great space for socialising and relaxing. In the corner of the lounge, the wood burner is perfect for creating a cosy atmosphere on chillier evenings, whilst the underfloor heating creates a comfortable warmth elsewhere in the cottage. The modern kitchen is a good size and has all the mod-cons needed to cater to your needs. Both of the bedrooms are king-size and have en-suites, which makes this a great property for two couples. The decor is simple, but elegant, thus creating a restful atmosphere where you will find it easy to unwind. One en-suite has a bathtub with shower over to soak in at the end of a long day and the other has a walk-in shower.

Outside, the south-facing garden's unbridled views of the North York Moors are something special. So make the most of the garden furniture, sit back with a glass of your favourite tipple and enjoy each other's company whilst soaking up the spectacular panoramas.

No wi-fi from Wednesday for rest of hols, if you dont need the internet thats ok however if you require the internet avoid. On our stay we needed internet access for family reasons and had to travel down the valley to find a connection. Also the land line didnt work. The booking fee was a bit cheeky never been asked for this in the past. However thRead moree area was stunning and for that alone I would revisit Hide

Beautiful, warm cottage. The view from the garden is stunning. Everything was clean, comfortable and to the highest standard. Pub 2 minute walk away and served great food.

We enjoyed our holiday at West Steading. The property is attractive, located as it is in a peaceful setting. We liked the private garden area, with its fine view of Blakey Ridge. We appreciated the generous welcome pack of essential food items with some treats. The Feversham Arms Inn, almost opposite the cottage, is a friendly pub which offers goodRead more food, served in generous portions. The walk from Church Houses to Low Mill - easy going along a well-defined path - is well worth doing. Hide
