Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom, three-storey cottage is perfect for extended family groups or parties of friends. In a slightly elevated position, it is just 150 metres from pubs and restaurants and is also ideally located for the wider Lake District. Stroll less than 1 mile down to the shores of Windermere. Walk beside the lake and see Ambleside Roman Fort. Hire your own motorboat from the port at Waterhead or book a cruise that will take you the entire length of the lake. Discover an abundance of picturesque footpaths and trails in the area to suit walkers of all abilities. The Stock Ghyll Force walk is just over 1 mile to the pretty waterfall and back, while the Ambleside to Troutbeck Circular Route is a more challenging 6 miles.

Make your way in at ground-floor level to discover a holiday home with a friendly, welcoming appeal and its own distinct style. To the right is the bright, modern kitchen, which encompasses all the necessities for easy self-catering. After you have eaten, sink back into one of the sofas to chat, sip coffee or gaze out towards Loughrigg Fell. Slide the doors to the balcony open on fine days and step out into the fresh air. Watch films, make plans or read one of the books you have found on the cottage's half-canoe bookshelf upstairs. Also at this level are a WC and access to the garage, with its laundry facilities and space for bikes and other outdoor equipment. Your gorgeous bedrooms are all arranged on the lower and upper levels of the property. Downstairs, you will find a spacious king-sized bedroom, where you can open the glass door to the patio to enable you to amble outside on fine mornings. There is also a double bedroom here with superb views and an immaculate family bathroom. Two equally elegant bedrooms can be found on the top floor of the house. These include a lovely twin and a second king-size, both with character-laden sloped ceilings. The king-size also features a cosy seating area where you can enjoy a few pages of your book before bed. Another family bathroom is located here too.

Spill out into the lawned garden to play games with the children or dine on the patio. Enjoy the privacy at this level or head up to the balcony to savour the scenic views. There is on-street parking for two cars.
