Craigmore is a stunning Victorian, detached house arranged over three floors in the pretty village of Combe Martin. Sleeping eight people, this large property has two living rooms, a modern kitchen/diner and five bedrooms providing a great deal of flexibility. Both of the living rooms have televisions and DVD players and there is a large dining table in the kitchen/diner capable of seating the whole party together. A useful toilet completes the accommodation on the ground floor; whilst there are two bedrooms – a King and a Double, a bathroom and separate cloakroom on the first floor. Three more bedrooms – a Double, Bunk and Single – occupy the second floor along with a shower room. Outside, the terraced garden can be reached from either the ground or first floor and provides a great place to enjoy the beautiful sea view. Just a few minutes’ walk from Craigmore takes you to Coombe Martin’s rock, sand and shingle beach. The village consists of one long street that is wedged into the valley and runs for roughly one and a half miles. At one end of Combe Martin you can be in the countryside a stone's throw from Exmoor, at the other end you could be sat on the beach watching the crashing waves of the Atlantic. The well-known Grade II listed Pack O’ Cards Inn looks over Combe Martin beach and the village also has a general store/post office. Combe Martin is well known for its Wildlife and Dinosaur Park; a 28-acre attraction that has a passion for encouraging respect for the natural world. As well as lions, wolves, sea lions, monkeys, wallabies, exotic birds and more, the park is well known for its life-sized animatronic dinosaurs. A short trip in the car will take you to the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth. Often known as Little Switzerland, the area is a walkers' paradise. For a unique coastal walk, follow the path from Lynton to the iconic Valley of Rocks, famous for its unusual geology and intrepid goats.

This was a large, comfortable property and a good base for a wonderful holiday. The kitchen was lovely and well equipped and the living areas were great - having an extra sitting room is a bonus! The garden is very steep. You can see this in the pictures but there were even more steps than expected - just something to think of if you have mobility Read morechallenges or young children. The only major issue we encountered was that we couldn't lock a number of first and second floor windows. For adult guests this is not an issue, but with a younger child in the party it caused us real concern. Other than that, a good property and a great location. Hide
