Property code: OC-MOUSE

This delightful three storey cottage is nestled in the charming fishing village of Mousehole, one of Cornwall's hidden gems. The village's fishing heritage dates back to 1266 and the tightly knitted streets are full of local granite built cottages. Mousehole was also believed to be the home of the last person to speak only the Cornish language and her house is celebrated with a plaque. A friendly local pub, galleries, restaurants, cafes, shops, and two Deli’s are all just as few minutes stroll from the cottage. The Cottage makes a perfect base for touring Cornwall's breathtaking landscape, beaches and historic sites. Nearby attractions to visit include Land's End, Sennen Cove, Porthcurno, The Minack Theatre, St Michael's Mount and numerous beautiful National Trust/English Heritage properties. There are also some fantastic walks to be had along the scenic Coastal Path either towards Lamorna Cove or Newlyn.Mousehole is also famous for its Christmas lights around the harbour and village, and the switch on is always something to look forward to. This is very famous in West Cornwall and has been a feature of the village for over 50 years. Scenes from Poldark and also the film, Frenchman's Creek (Daphne Du Maurier) ,have been filmed here.

Arranged over three floors, you'll find all you need to enjoy your stay. Stepping into the lounge you'll instantly feel at home. Wifi, a smart TV and CD player offer in-house entertainment.  Here you will also find a separate WC. The well equipped kitchen/diner is fitted with a cooker, washing machine, fridge with ice compartment, microwave and plenty of cooking equipment. The top floor is where you'll find the double bedroom with a lovely sea view over the rooftops to the sea and St Clement's Isle - perfect for watching the fishing boats pass by. There is also an ensuite shower room with WC which also has views out to sea.

This is a lovely couples bolthole to escape to, nicely tucked down a little side street to offer plenty of peace and quiet. Beautiful in the spring and summer months but when the weather turns colder, wrap up warm and head out. You will find yourself in the harbour within a few minutes. The view is always different with the changing sky and sea and on a stormy day the waves are a sight to behold. Tuck up in a cafe with a hot chocolate and soak up the atmosphere. There is a regular bus service to Newlyn and Penzance for shopping. Supermarkets will deliver online grocery orders. Buses from Penzance travel regularly to Land's End, Sennen Cove, Porthcurno and St Ives and Truro. For those choosing to arrive in Penzance by train, there is a frequent bus service to/from Mousehole to Penzance Station.

A really cosy, well-equipped gem. Just right for a couple, and well placed to access the delights of the amazing port of Mousehole. Some great eateries and an excellent bus service to Penzance (the M6 bus that looks a bit like an ice-cream van!) Really friendly locals and great views. Highly recommended.

If you like seagulls this is the cottage for you!! Cottage was fine for the time we spent in it. Local Buses fantastic and lovely walks. Good for foodies too. We had good fun at the Ship quiz night ( great fish and chips) and the Old Coastguard inn is worth a visit or two.
