Merv & Jackie are so welcoming to their beautiful cottage, including a complimentary cream tea. The cottage is immaculate, well maintained, comfortable, & very well equipped. There aren't any local shops, but there is a Tesco in Launceston. Plus other supermarkets are dotted about. If you like good quality food & produce, you must visit StrawbeRead morerry Fields. Excellent restaurant, coffee shop, gifts & food store. Cornish pasties are the best ever from here & the cakes amazing! Most main tourist type areas are within an hour - 2 hour window. Eden Project is easy to reach & tho it might appear initially expensive your ticket does allow you a free return within one year. Zip Wire over the Biomes is wicked!! Pendennis Castle, Pencarrow House, Screech Owl Sanctuary & Animal Park are really worth visiting. As is Bude Castle which is free to visit. This is our third time of staying at The Old Smithy & we're planning to book for 2027!!! Hide

A lovely 'soul full' cottage, with all the needed amenities. Very comfort bed, and great sofas to relax after an intensive day of searching the beautiful Cornwall out doors. Super lovely and welcoming hostesses that were willing to help in what ever was needed. highly recommended

This is a beautiful cottage set in a lovely location off the beaten track but still within easy driving distance of Looe, Tintagel, St Austell brewery, Eden Project, Bodmin Jail, Jamaica Inn etc & a Tesco a short drive away. The Frog & Bucket serves good food tho the menu is limited. Jamaica Inn is well worth a visit. Not only for food, (advisable Read moreto book if peak times), Mousaka is excellent, but the Daphne Du Maurier & Smugglers museum & the well stocked gift shop. Hide

Nice clean little cottage, quite a busy road nearby. Easy parking, fairly easy to find, we didn't walk from the cottage as the weather was not great but fairly easy travelling to get to Padstow and the Eden project.
