After a day of adventure, the welcoming village pub in Marshwood (1.4 miles) provides the perfect spot for a well-earned drink. You’ll be ideally positioned to discover some of West Dorset’s most picturesque towns and villages, including Beaminster (6 miles) and Bridport (7 miles). Head south to the iconic Jurassic Coast (9 miles) to explore the golden cliffs and harbour at West Bay or wander the charming streets of Lyme Regis (9 miles). Within 20 miles, you’ll also find a host of popular attractions including Tintinhull Garden, Montacute House, and the fascinating Fleet Air Arm Museum.

Enter through the front door into the cosy living room, complete with a wood burner, Smart TV and comfortable sofas perfect for unwinding after a day outdoors. At the rear of the property, the well-equipped kitchen/dining room features patio doors opening onto the terrace, allowing you to dine while enjoying the ever-changing rural landscape. The ground floor also hosts a family bathroom with a shower over bath and WC. Upstairs, you’ll find two inviting bedrooms. The master bedroom offers a versatile super-king-size zip-and-link bed, while the second bedroom features a comfortable double bed, making this an ideal retreat for couples or small families.

Outside, the terrace provides a wonderful spot for morning coffee, al fresco dining, or simply admiring the sunset over the countryside. Private parking for two cars is conveniently located alongside the property, ensuring a stress-free stay from arrival to departure.

21st 26th August 2026 We had a wonderful stay at April Cottage, and couldnt have asked for a better place to stay. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The cottage was clean, comfortable, cosy and beautifully presented, with everything we needed for a relaxing family break. What you see in the pictures is exactly what the cottaRead morege looks like, with the added bonus of the beds being very comfortable! The cottage is full of charm. We spent peaceful moments on the balcony, taking in the gorgeous views, and loved waking up to the beautiful scenery from the bedroom. At night, the sky was breathtaking a blanket of stars that felt almost magical. The location was fantastic and made it easy for us to explore the stunning Dorset coastline, including Charmouth, Lyme Regis, West Bay, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. It was the perfect base for our holiday. April Cottage has such a lovely atmosphere, and its clear that the host, has put so much thought into making guests feel welcome and comfortable. After busy days exploring, it was wonderful to return and unwind in such a peaceful setting. Communication beforehand was quick, warm and reassuring. What stood out most was how clearly the hosts have poured so much care and effort into ensuring guests have a fabulous stay every detail has been thoughtfully considered. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. We highly recommend April Cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful, comfortable and welllocated place to stay. Stunning cottage, for a break or family holiday. Everything felt like new, with very fresh appearance to all decor, sofas, beds, kitchen, bbq. Really very very well presented. A nice welcome pack also provided which makes for a good start. Location is excellent for trips out to the beach and nearby sites. April Cottage is a little gem! The minute you walk in the door your feel at home and when you see the stunning uninterrupted views across the open farmland and countryside - you don't want to move an inch! The cottage has been very thoughtfully and tastefully curated and everything is of a high quality. The kitchen is very well equipped and the Read morepatio has a lovely table and chairs and BBQ. The beds are super comfy and all the bed linen and towels are lovely and soft. It's incredibly clean and tidy. Staying at April Cottage was such a treat! We felt so much at home. The village setting is lovely, with so many places nearby to explore. The cottage itself feels like a peaceful hideaway - it has that cosy, traditional charm you hope for. Everything is finished to such a high standard. The cottage was spotless, and every small detail seemed thought through. We were especially touched by the welcome basket left by the host freshly baked bread, butter, coffee, and even some Dorset lemon curd and Dorset tea! It was such a thoughtful gesture and made us feel looked after. One of our favourite things was sitting out on the patio, enjoying meals while looking out at the beautiful view the perfect spot to relax and unwind.
