Stay in this gorgeous, six-person bolt hole on Holy Island and enjoy a charming holiday home with incredible sea views. Getting there is one aspect of the adventure, too, where you can cross the causeway at low tide into the calm air of Lindisfarne. Spend your days lazing on the beach, wandering the priory ruins and heading up to Lindisfarne Castle (1 mile) for those wow-factor views. If your group's up for it, there are several waymarked walking routes to enjoy, including Lindisfarne Causeway Footpath and the Pilgrim’s Way, which you can cross when the tide is low. Nature lovers are also well served by the Bird Watching Station and Emmanuel Head, both within 1 mile. Finish the day with a bottle of Lindisfarne Mead, then plan a trip to Berwick-upon-Tweed or drive to Bamburgh Castle and its fabulous beach.

Upon arrival, take a moment to admire the glorious garden and sea views that make this home so special. Step inside the light and airy hallway, through the stone archway, and into the spacious lounge, where seating, an open fire, and bespoke lamps enhance the delight of watching the sun set through the floor-to-ceiling windows. When stomachs begin to rumble, the kitchen/diner has all you need to whip up a memorable dinner, using the local ingredients you picked up on your travels. Gather at the six-person dining table and enjoy more spectacular panoramas. There is also a WC on this floor. When day turns to night, find three generous bedrooms on the first floor: a king-size, a super-king-size with an en-suite shower room, and a super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom that can be made up as a twin on request. The charming family bathroom completes the accommodation and features a bath with a shower over and WC.

Outside, the inviting enclosed garden features low stone walls that offer far-reaching views of the sea and the Cheviot hills in the distance, and, at times, you will see sheep grazing in the fields. The raised patio has garden furniture and a bench seat, and is ideal for al fresco dining and sunset viewing. There is private parking for four cars.

A wonderfully spacious cottage in a fantastic location just seconds from the village centre yet tucked away from view in utter peace and tranquility. The views are stunning just sitting in the garden watching the tide come and go and the wonderful sunsets - bliss. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped and the beds are super comfy. Highly recommRead moreend eating out at the Crown & Anchor but maybe advise booking ahead for evenings as it gets busy. Loved staying at Bow Cottage and will definitely be returning there. Hide
