Just returned from a weeks holiday, and stayed at the forge cottage. Everything was perfect, fittings and fixtures were top quality. The location was perfect for a visit to Cornwall, no more than a hour in any direction to visit places of interest. We would definitely return in the future.

Weve just returned from a weeks stay at The Forge and, overall, we really enjoyed our time there. The location is excellent just six minutes from Padstow and only a couple of minutes drive from Harlyn Bay Beach, making it a great base for exploring the area. The cottage itself is beautiful, well presented, and clearly very thoughtfully desigRead morened. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in, although it would benefit from a few more utensils and pans. There are a few points worth noting. The internet was extremely slow throughout our stay. The owner advised that fibre broadband is due to be installed soon, which should hopefully resolve the issue, but for now the Wi-Fi is very poor and mobile signal/5G coverage is limited. We had booked the twin bedroom upstairs, but on arrival the beds had not been separated into two singles. Instead, there were two single duvets placed on top of a double bed. The cottage has underfloor heating throughout, but we found the controls difficult to understand and the property remained quite warm for most of our stay. We were fortunate to be the only guests on the development during our visit, so it was very peaceful. However, its worth noting that the cottages are positioned quite close together, particularly The Forge and The Dairy. The beds were comfortable and we slept well, although the pillows were firmer than we would have preferred. There is a Tesco within a 5 minute drive, but note in the evening it is very poorly stocked, so it is best to go during the day, Overall, The Forge is a lovely cottage in a fantastic location, and we had a very enjoyable stay. With a few small improvements, it would be even better. Hide

The Forge is beautiful, quiet, comfortable with all the modern conveniences. No bath but the facilities are modern and obviously new. Beautiful decoration throughout without being cluttered. There is also a washing machine and iron/ing board which is not listed online and also a hairdryer. The locality is a sea sport haven and the owners have a dRead moreedicated storage building to hose down/clean and store sand covered surf boards/wetsuits etc. There is an induction hob in the kitchen and has only a small freezer compartment to the fridge. There are lots of different birds around the property and sheep bleating in neighbouring fields and is perfect for stargazing as no light pollution come night time. There is a Tescos 1 1/2 miles away for groceries and a petrol station even nearer. Rick Steins pub/restaurant is lovely and is in St Merryn. Trevone beach is gorgeous with sauna/toilets/bar/food. The property/staycay will leave a lasting imprint on you and leave with wonderful memories. Hide
