The scenery is beautiful, can't fault it. Nice walks if you have a dog, the neighbours and surrounding residents are warm and friendly. The cottage is ok, part of it is done very well but there are areas such as the location of the washing machine and tumble dryer which need serious attention - an uninviting shed. The advert on the website for the Read moreproperty shows a lovely welcome basket and the guest book had comments raving about the baskets - we did not receive on but the dog did, but his had an opened packet of treats and towels in case he got muddy. We were asked not to walk on the carpets with shoes on and slippers were meant to be supplied as stated in the information book - they were not (maybe they were in the welcome hamper). There was not enough washing up liquid so we had to supply our own. The garden needed some attention, it was a struggle to get in and out of the gates due to the overgrown plants. My partner and I felt that compared to other properties we have stayed at, this one fell short, it was not good value for money. Hide

Response from holiday cottages - Thank you for your feedback, we are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Storybrooke, the owner has approached us with regards to the welcome hamper and has advised that a full hamper is provided for guests staying for a week, the website has now been updated to reflect this. Unfortunately, the owners were out of the country during your stay and were not able to drop off a bottle of wine which is generally left for guests staying for a short break. Hide

We have just returned from a weekend stay at Storybooke Cottage, what an amazing little place this is tucked away on the riverbank. The location is perfect for a peaceful getaway . We didn't venture far as we were blessed with very hot weather which meant we had to keep the dog cool, we did some local early morning walks along the river bank. We wRead moreere lucky enough to watch a seal swim up and down the river as well as families enjoying paddle boarding and swimming. We meet some of the neighbours who were all very friendly , the area has a lovely community feel. The cottage was well equipped for our needs, we didn't actually use the lounge as due to the weather we spent the majority of our day outside. We are planning to go back again later in the year.
