This charming country escape is the result of a true labour of love, transformed from a derelict cottage into a character-filled holiday home for a group of family or friends. Today, its heritage is evident in the through-stone walls and exposed beams still remaining, with gorgeous décor and thoughtful design touches creating a cosy and elegant base. Footpaths lead directly into surrounding woodlands, making it ideal for walkers and four-legged companions alike. The medieval market town of Much Wenlock (1.5 miles) is known for its traditional shops and friendly locals. National Trust favourites, including Benthall Hall and Dudmaston Estate Comer Woods, sit within 4.5 miles, while the historic riverside village of Ironbridge (7 miles) makes for a fascinating day out. Alternatively, why not take a nostalgic ride on Telford Steam Railway (8 miles) or tee off at Astbury Golf Course (10.5 miles).

On arrival, step through the front door, and you’ll find a comfortable twin bedroom on the left, complete with its own en-suite shower room. Moving through the heart of the house brings you into a spacious kitchen/diner, where French doors open straight onto the garden for indoor/outdoor living. This sociable space is well equipped for shared meals and lazy breakfasts, with a dining area and additional seating. A handy utility room and downstairs WC keep things practical. The cosy sitting room is perfect for unwinding, with an impressive feature fireplace and gorgeous beams. Also on the ground floor is a peaceful double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom featuring a bath with a shower attachment, plus a WC. Climb to the top floor to discover the impressive king-size bedroom in the eaves, with a generous en-suite bathroom featuring both a separate bath and shower.

Outside, the huge enclosed garden is fabulous for children, dogs and relaxed evenings enjoying treats from the BBQ, surrounded by tranquil riverside views. You’ll also have plenty of room for your vehicles, with private parking for up to three cars.

The cottage has been stunningly restored and extended to an exceptional standard, beautifully blending the original features with contemporary style and comfort. This cottage was fantastic! We had a lovely time. We would recommend it to anyone. There were 5 of us in our party (three adults and two children) with two Maine Coon cats and a dog. When we got there found a welcome basket full of bread, prosecco, bananas and homemade shortbread (along with the recipe) which was perfect for our snacks after our joRead moreurney to the cottage. The cottage had a fully enclosed garden so the dog could roam about in it without us fearing he could escape. We spent many afternoons just sitting in the garden on the chairs and loungers enjoying the sunshine and watching our son playing football, playing with the dog and climbing the tree. The cottage was beautiful, inside and out. It was very nicely decorated (sometimes we find, when holidaying with animals, the properties are round-down because they think pet owners dont mind or will destroy them), well kitted out (it had everything our own houses had in them from cleaning products to cellotape!) and extremely comfortable for both the people and animals (we had brought a portable catio for our cats who love being outside in our escape-proof garden but because the cottage was so big and they could find cool spots on the extremely hot days (which we had many!) they were quite happy being indoors so we didnt even unpack it). Overall, we had an extremely good holiday and we cant recommend this cottage enough! 10/10! Hide

An extremely comfortable stay. Its a beautifully restored cottage that had everything we needed.
