A delightful hideaway close to the Moray Firth in Scotland’s beautiful Highlands, this inviting retreat is ideal for couples or small families. Sleeping three guests, with the option of requesting a camp bed for a fourth, the two-bedroom abode is tucked away in tranquil Auldearn, 2.5 miles from Nairn and 18.5 miles from Inverness. With three beaches and two golf courses, Nairn is known as one of the sunniest, driest places in Scotland. Stroll along its light-coloured sandy beaches, looking for dolphins bobbing in the waves or watching glorious sunsets over the sea. In winter, you might even catch glimpses of the Northern Lights in the dark night skies. Visit the National Trust for Scotland’s rose-coloured Brodie Castle and its splendid gardens, 5 miles away. Lovers of history will also wish to explore Fort George, 10.5 miles away, often described as one of the most impressive artillery fortifications in Europe.

Return from each exciting Scottish excursion to find a warm welcome at this inviting, refurbished retreat. Step inside and make your way through to the comfortable lounge/diner, with its stylish yet friendly finish. Stoke up the wood burner so it throws a pleasant glow out across the room, then choose a book or a game from the shelves. Alternatively, settle on the sofa or a comfortable chair to find a gripping box set on the Smart TV to enjoy. A circular dining table with padded chairs is the perfect place to sit down to hearty Scottish feasts during your stay. The adjoining kitchen has been fitted with everything you will need to assist you in producing these culinary delights. There is even a coffee machine where you can brew fresh cups to carry through to the lounge or out into the garden. As each day draws to a close, climb the carpeted stairs up to the first floor, where your king-size and single bedrooms are located. An additional single camp bed for an extra guest is available upon request. There is a family shower room, where you can refresh yourselves before and after your many trips out.

The private, fully enclosed garden is to the rear of the cottage. It features a patio, with a table and chairs, where you can relax out in the fresh air on fine days. Dine out here or linger over a bottle of wine, listening to the birds in the nearby trees. Climb four steps up to the raised area to play games on the lawn with your children or four-legged friend. Unallocated on-street parking can be found at the front of the property, which is subject to availability.

Dukes Den What a excellent cottage well presented and a ideal location for travelling out and about we were out every date and it was a pleasure to return every day for a relaxing evening 10/10

Lovely cottage, well appointed with a good garden space too. Easy street parking right outside the cottage and a welcoming bistro/pub within easy walking distance. Good location for accessing places of interest by car. Very enjoyable week.
