Property code: OC-H34793

Tucked away on the Devon/Somerset border, right in an International Dark Sky Reserve, this is the perfect little base for adventures on Exmoor. Step outside, and you're straight into wild moorland walks and winding bike trails, so there's no need to take your car keys. Just 2 miles away, the dramatic, heather-covered hills of Exmoor National Park are calling, whether you’re visiting the famous Tarr Steps Nature Reserve (9 miles) or taking part in a North Devon Hawk Walk (10 miles). For an afternoon beside the water, head 9 miles to Wimbleball Lake, where you can experience many outdoor activities on its 530-acre site, such as paddleboarding, kayaking, scenic walks and bike rides. Refuel with a visit to Dulverton (2.5 miles away). It's a friendly market town with quirky shops, shabby-chic tea rooms, and some excellent pubs.

Traditional features harmonise perfectly with rustic decor at this detached stone barn conversion. Come in and be immediately enamoured with the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner, which boasts all the equipment needed to whip up family favourites and a large four-person table from which to enjoy them. After dinner, head upstairs to the cosy lounge, where exposed beams and deep, comfortable sofas invite you to relax with a drink in hand. On this floor, there is the spacious king-size zip-and-link bedroom (convertible to twin on request) and an en-suite bathroom with a hip bath, shower and WC. Back downstairs, there is a king-size bedroom and an en-suite shower room with a shower and WC.

Each morning, enjoy your frothy coffee out on the bench in front of the property. With the Exe Valley Way right outside, you might spot the occasional friendly walker passing by, while the trail usually remains wonderfully quiet. There is also a shared garden with outdoor furniture, and private parking for two cars.
