The property lies in the conservation area, just a short walk from the centre of Alnwick, a popular market town with a wealth of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, as well as a theatre, cinema, arts centre, and a thriving second-hand bookshop at the former train station. Just half a mile from the property are the town's two most famous landmarks: the historic Alnwick Castle to the north, and the magical Alnwick Garden to the east. The glorious Northumberland coast is within easy reach, with stunning beaches at Alnmouth, Longhoughton, and Warkworth (all within 8 miles). Other local attractions include Dunstanburgh Castle, Warkworth Castle, and Amble Marina (all within 10 miles).

Four stone steps lead up to the front door of this welcoming retreat, taking you via a cheery porch into a stylishly tiled hallway. As you explore the ground floor of this airy and inviting property, you will find the spacious, tastefully decorated lounge has a big bay window, a Smart TV, ample seating, and a striking feature fireplace. At the end of the hallway, a step leads down into the smartly arranged galley-style kitchen/diner, fully equipped to cook up a storm, with a characterful dining table and plenty of workspace, providing a wonderful spot to gather for a special occasion. Heading upstairs, the first floor offers three of the property's four cosy bedrooms. Here you can choose between two king-size rooms, each with an en-suite shower room, and a delightful twin. One of the king-size bedrooms offers a glimpse of Alnwick Castle through the bay window. The main family bathroom, with a free-standing bath and eye-catching decor, can also be found on the first floor. A further flight of stairs leads up to the second floor and the super-king-size bedroom, with two Velux-style windows offering a light and airy ambience, and a sofa bed suitable for a child to sleep on. This characterful room also has its own en-suite shower room. For flexible sleeping arrangements, the king-size and super-king-size bedrooms all offer zip-and-link beds that convert to twins on request.

From the kitchen, sliding glass doors lead out into the sweet and snug enclosed courtyard, a charming patio space with lighting and power, as well as a table and chairs, and a BBQ set into a large outdoor chimney for alfresco dining. Knaresdale is a fantastic base for a holiday in Northumberland. Alnwick itself has so much to offer, with the castle and gardens and great choice of restaurants but within an hours drive there is so much to see and do. Highly recommend visiting Holy Island, Bamburgh castle, Amble, Beamish, Corbridge, Morpeth & Almouth. The property itself is beRead moreautifully furnished and decorated to a very high standard. The kitchen is equipped with everything that we needed during our stay and having an air fryer and a second fridge is very useful. A clothes airer would be a very useful addition as although there is a line in the courtyard, the weather wasnt reliable enough to use it. The three king size bedrooms are spacious with en suite facilities and the beds were very comfortable. The twin room is very snug and in my opinion would really only suit children using one of the main rooms for clothes etc as there is no storage, but again Im told the beds were very comfortable. Parking, although on street, was not an issue for the 2 cars that we had. The outside courtyard area seemed quite small for a large number of people, we were eight in total, but the weather wasnt warm enough to use it so this is just an observation. Overall Knaresdale is superb and I would not hesitate to recommend it and will hopefully return in the future. Hide
