Crafted from genuine Canadian logs, this inviting cabin has room for friends or families to get away from it all and unwind together. Set within a boutique site of similar properties, it’s surrounded by nature and is close to the coast – ideal for both country rambles and days on the beach. Hike from the door to Padstow, 3 miles away, where there’s a selection of superb places to eat as well as interesting shops, welcoming pubs and a picturesque working harbour. From here, you can hire a bike and head out on the beautiful Camel Trail, which takes you through glorious scenery to Wadebridge (5.5 miles) and on to Bodmin (11 miles) and Wenfordbridge (17.5 miles). The beaches at Harlyn Bay and Trevone Bay are both within 6 miles, while Camel Creek Family Adventure Park is 3 miles away, and the Eden Project is 19 miles away.

The distinctive lodge, with its soaring, apex roof, is built from logs imported from Canada to create an authentically welcoming feel. Step through the front door and into a superb, open-plan living space in which the warmth of natural timber envelops you from floor to ceiling. Cooks will have a ball in the spacious kitchen, which includes an American-style fridge/freezer as well as a microwave and a dishwasher for convenience. Sip a coffee at the breakfast bar, and spend leisurely meals around the sturdy wooden dining table, setting out your board games afterwards for fun evenings together. When it’s time to sit back and do nothing, head over to the lounge area, where soft seating surrounds a grand stone fireplace, featuring a wood-burner-effect electric fire for added cosiness. Listen to music, get stuck into a good book or switch on the Smart TV and indulge in a movie marathon. For alternative entertainment – perhaps some children’s shows for the little ones – there’s a snug on the first-floor mezzanine (overlooking the lounge), which also offers comfortable seating and a Smart TV. The ground floor is home to two bedrooms, a twin and a king-size, sharing an elegant family bathroom and both offering ample clothes storage in the form of built-in wardrobes. Completing the interior is a huge, king-size bedroom on the first floor, with a soaring ceiling, private balcony and en-suite shower room.

In terms of outside space, the first-floor king-size bedroom has access to a decked balcony with views of a tree-covered hillside, while the snug boasts another balcony which looks over a stream and a sloping meadow. From the living space, patio doors lead to a deck that runs the length of the property – this includes dining furniture, perfect for grilling up delicious treats as you relax in the sunshine. From here, you can step down to enjoy the safely enclosed, sloping lawned garden.

Pine Haven is in a wonderful serene almost tropical situation, the property is exceptionally large and comfortable with every amenity one could ask for. We have stayed in other lodges on this site, but Pine Haven has one luxury for me the others did not have, it is on the level without a long flight of stairs leading to the door. This log cabin is fantastic. We really enjoyed our stay. The beds were very comfortable, fully stocked kitchen, great shower. The garden was very peaceful and the property is very light and airy. Our favourite holiday cottage, thank you.
