This light and airy cottage, which is a former Harbour Masters house, sits in the narrow streets of a tranquil area of Polruan and enjoys outstanding views across the water to Fowey, offering the perfect base for families and groups of friends planning Cornish adventures together. The village of Polruan offers a quieter alternative to its sibling Fowey, boasting two friendly local pubs, a handy village store and a historic castle overlooking the mouth of the estuary. A charming ferry service transports you across the water to Fowey throughout the day. Here, explore the harbour town’s sandy streets lined with chic seafood restaurants, family friendly bistros, cocktail bars and traditional pubs – perfect for the days you don’t fancy cooking. Discover classic Cornish art galleries and bookshops, or venture away from town and embrace seaside walking with a ramble along the dramatic South West Coast Path. From Fowey, the coastal trail leads to hidden beaches including Readymoney Cove, Polridmouth Cove and Menabilly Beach.

Before stepping into this welcoming two-storey home, take a moment to admire its sea-view position in the beating heart of historic Polruan. Head inside and be greeted by a light-filled open-plan living space combining a well-appointed kitchen with an airy diner and inviting lounge. Here, sunlight fills the room, organic colours set a calm mood, and views of the estuary beckon outdoor adventures. Unwind in the lounge space after days spent in the elements; sink into the sofa, flick on the Smart TV and fire up the wood burner – perfect for cosy movie nights. When stomachs rumble, find all you need in the kitchen to cook up Cornish feasts, to be enjoyed inside at the wooden dining table or alfresco-style out on the patio overlooking the stunning views of the water. At the end of each day away, head upstairs to choose from three pretty bedrooms: a master king-size, a double room and a single bedroom with an additional trundle bed. Serving the bedrooms and completing the home are a family bathroom and a separate shower room.

Outside, make full use of the scenic patio with its decked space and garden furniture, offering the perfect spot for al fresco drinks and meals with the buzz and scenery of the estuary as your backdrop. Guests will also benefit from a parking space for one car – a real bonus in a Cornish seaside village.
