Elevate your Cumbrian getaway and make memories that will last a lifetime with an escape to Nenthead, one of England’s highest villages and a prime holiday destination in the North Pennines AONB. Just 4 miles away, explore Alston, a much-loved northern town offering local charm through its cafés, pubs, restaurants and independently owned shops. From Alston, join the Pennine Way, a long-distance route inviting walkers and cyclists to venture cross-country, or board the South Tynedale Railway for a picturesque journey through the South Tyne Valley. Cross into County Durham to visit Bowlees (17 miles), where you can lace up your walking boots to discover the scenic High Force and Summerhill Force waterfalls, or head to the Weardale Ski Club (14 miles) in winter for adrenaline-fuelled skiing and snowboarding. Keen adventurers may also wish to tackle Cross Fell (11 miles), the tallest mountain in the area.

Combining creature comforts with classic country cottage appeal, this handsome holiday home is exceptionally cosy and welcoming. Step inside to discover a charming living room, where soft seating is arranged around an open fire and a Smart TV – the perfect setting for relaxed evenings indoors. Next door, the kitchen/diner forms a second sociable hub, featuring a large central dining table, an additional cushy sofa to keep the cook company, and a well-equipped kitchen complete with a farmhouse-style Aga. Completing the ground floor is a snug, also furnished with soft seating, a Smart TV and a wood burner, offering a peaceful retreat. The staircase to the first floor can be found here. Upstairs, all three bedrooms are designed for comfort. The largest is a family bedroom with a king-size bed and an additional sofa bed, while a second king-size bedroom benefits from its own en-suite bathroom. The final bedroom is a delightful double, served by a refreshing family bathroom, also on this floor.

Outside, keep your eyes peeled for red squirrels, deer, pheasants and grouse, which are often spotted from the tranquil garden. The grounds offer 2 acres of enclosed lawn, complete with a patio area for outdoor dining and that all-important BBQ. Located within a Dark Sky Reserve, the property is perfectly placed for stargazing, so be sure to step outside after dark to admire the magical night skies.
