This striking holiday retreat enjoys a quiet setting on Sizewell common, one of a cluster of 8 cottages situated in the parish of Aldringham cum Thorpe on the Suffolk coast. It lies within a half-mile of the beach where you will find the Beach View bar offering pizza and other snacks, with Sizewell Tea café just a little further along at Sizewell Gap. The property welcomes four guests and offers a tranquil setting for couples, friends and families looking to escape traffic noise and the hustle and bustle of everyday life, with scenic coast paths and remote beaches to explore on your doorstep. Just over 2 miles down the coast is the picturesque holiday village of Thorpeness, famous for its whimsical architecture. Spend time here enjoying picnics on the beach, or perhaps hire a clicker- constructed boat and explore the pretty islands on the Peter Pan- themed Meare. The vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh (5 miles south) with it's long, pebble beach and the coastal town of Southwold (16 miles north) with its historic pier and sandy beach, both make a lovely day trip with independent eateries and, cute boutiques. Nearby attractions include the Anglo-Saxon burial site at Sutton Hoo; the creative hub at Snape Maltings, site of the famous Aldeburgh festival and extensive food and retail opportunities; the remote shingle spit at Orford Ness and RSPB Minsmere (all within 15 miles).

The whitewash single- storey cottage carefully combines original features, such as beamed ceilings and panelled windows, with an eclectic mix of statement furniture, accessories, and artwork. At the heart of the home is a spacious, open-plan kitchen/diner/sitting room with French doors opening onto the garden and a roaring wood burner for cosy nights in. At one end of the room is a sleek kitchen area with everything needed to whip up delicious feasts for the group, which you can share at the antique-style dining table. At the opposite end of the room, you’ll find a collection of comfortable seating set around a Smart TV. When day turns to night, retire to one of the elegant bedrooms – a king-size or a twin (can be zipped up to make a super-king bed) – for a good night’s rest. The king-size bedroom offers direct access to the garden. Completing the accommodation are two stylish bathrooms: one with a WC, basin and walk -in shower with grab rail and the other providing a sperate basin and toilet facilities. The lateral living nature of the property makes it ideal for those less able to use stairs.

Outside, there is plenty of space to enjoy in the large, natural garden. The south west facing space captures the Suffolk sun throughout the day, so you can relish in al fresco dining on a summer’s evening or unwind sat under the ancient oak tree with a drink and a good book.
