This welcoming stone-built cottage has been converted from the stables of an 1840s Georgian house and is an ideal choice for families seeking a relaxing coastal escape. The property provides easy access to breathtaking stretches of the North Yorkshire coastline and the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, where you can walk, hike or cycle on many trails. Ravenscar has a lovely tearoom and a National Trust Information Centre. The popular resort town of Scarborough is 10 miles away, where you can indulge in the many eateries and walk along the promenade or sandy beaches. Just 10 miles north is Whitby, famous for its fish and chips, steeped in maritime history, and home to the iconic 199 steps leading up to the Gothic Abbey. Alternatively, keen walkers should head inland to experience the moorland landscapes and waterfalls, including Mallyan Spout, less than 15 miles away.

Accessed through a private, gated patio, enter this homely two-storey property into the kitchen and dining area, which has a bright, fresh feel. You’ll find all the appliances you need to cook up some tasty treats. The dining area has a pretty wooden table set next to the window, with plenty of thoughtful touches to encourage you to linger over meals while recalling the day’s adventures. Throughout this inviting property, there are light and airy rooms punctuated by vibrant pops of colour in the decor and furnishings, many of which reflect the unique coastal location. Adjacent to the kitchen/dining area is the heart of the home, where a charming lounge awaits. Sink into the snug leather seating and enjoy chatting in the warmth of the electric fire over afternoon tea; in the evenings, there is a TV for entertainment. From the lounge area, stairs lead up to the first floor, where you’ll discover two attractively furnished bedrooms with plenty of space for storage: one double and one twin with 2'6" beds. Drift off to sleep and awaken ready for your next day of activities. A beautifully tiled, contemporary shower room with some lovely coastal-inspired touches completes the interior of this cottage.

Head outside to an enclosed, gravelled garden, and enjoy relaxing in this pretty space. Take a moment to relish the peace and quiet of this marvellous rural location. With seating and a BBQ on hand, this is the ideal spot for a morning brew or for dining alfresco. The property has private off-road parking for two cars.
