Nestled in the peaceful hamlet of East Burton, there are many attractions to enjoy near this cosy cottage for two, including The Tank Museum, Monkey World, Hardy’s Dorchester, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, which are all within 12 miles. The Jurassic Coast offers fabulous walks and beautiful beaches, such as Studland Bay, the traditional seaside towns of Swanage (15 miles) and Weymouth (13 miles) and the striking shingle ridge of Chesil Beach (19 miles). Visit RSPB Arne (10 miles) and the historic walled town of Wareham (6.5 miles) or take the steam train between Swanage and Corfe Castle. Book a day chalk stream fishing at the East Burton Estate or coarse fishing at Wareham. In the nearby village of Wool (1.5 miles), you will find a good selection of amenities including a bakery, convenience stores, post office, chemist and three pubs. Take a break from driving and explore Dorchester, Weymouth or Poole and Bournemouth via train at Wool Mainline Station, a 20 minute (level) walk from the property. Or enjoy the views by taking the bus to Bridport or Lyme Regis.

Adjacent to the owners’ 18th-century Grade II-listed property, yet with privacy assured, there is a private entrance to this characterful cottage. Stepping into the entrance hallway you are met with an inviting and spacious kitchen/diner with a handy utility room housing a washer/dryer, and separate WC. The spacious kitchen is equipped with an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and microwave, and everything you could need to cook up some of your favourite recipes. There is an attractive dining space with a table for two leading into a cosy lounge with a Smart TV, and comfortable furnishings where you can put your feet up after a busy day exploring. A staircase takes you to the gallery-style king-size bedroom. A light and bright room with a calm ambience, it features a stylish en-suite shower room with WC.

Sitting on the banks of a tributary of the River Frome, the property has a gated, enclosed riverside garden for the exclusive use of guests and their dog just a short stroll along the driveway. There is an attractive decked area with comfortable garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ to enjoy al fresco dining. Relax on the sun loungers with a glass of wine and a good book, or simply sit and watch the babbling river and its plethora of wildlife and birds. There is an allocated off-road parking space to the front of the property.

Abi and Mike were absolutely wonderful and generous. Shared excellent recommendations on places to visit, eat and shop (which weve managed to checkmark a little over half of the things on the list!). Little Water Barn is a lovely cottage next door to the owners, who were friendly, helpful and obliging. All the comments in the visitor's book were glowing. The cottage is valued for it's peacefulness and relaxing atmosphere. There is good access to lots of tourist attractions. The cottage is clean and well maintained.

A really superb modern, clean, well-equipped cottage in a beautiful and peaceful location. It is perfectly sited for exploring all that the local area has to offer and Mike and Abi are fantastic hosts. An outstanding cottage run by an impeccable couple. Everything had been thought of regarding the contents and furnishings of the cottage. It was the first time in decades of holidaying in these type of cottages that coals were supplied for the barbecue. A beautiful setting and a very comfortable bed which is paramount on walking holidays!

The cottage is at the end of a quiet country lane, it's very cosy & well appointed and is a part of a larger mill building. The owners live in the main building & will make you feel most welcome. A beautiful, comfortable, and well equipped cottage in an idyllic setting by the river bank. The place had everything we needed for us, and our dog. What can we say, it was perfect . Beautiful cottage in a gorgeous setting. Every attention to detail in the cottage. Fantastic welcome pack with dog treats and food for visiting ducks. In all this a comfortable cottage on the small size with quite a steep internal staircase .From the pictures we expected a piece of garden to access the riverside and thats not the case you have to walk along a gravel drive to a gate and go down the bank with no steps holding a hand rail quite an undertaking if your carrying drinks and food .
