For a restful holiday right in the centre of Lyme Regis, one of Dorset’s most characterful seaside towns, stay at this gorgeous two-bedroom home. Located at the top of the high street and within easy walking distance of all the main shops, parks, beaches, the cottage location is ideal for scenic strolls, enjoying the sea air and for the brave, swimming in the sea!  Fossil fans will surely make a beeline for Dinosaur land, 500 metres away, while food lovers can dive into the town’s vibrant cafe and restaurant scene. For exploring further afield, Branscombe, 11 miles, charms with its thatched cottages, working forge and watermill, while West Bay and Bridport, 11 miles, are fantastic for dramatic cliffs, beaches and a lively market town atmosphere with a quirky antiques quarter. Nearby Seaton, 7.5 miles, is home to bird-rich wetlands where you might spot waders and songbirds, and Beer, 9.5 miles, is famous for its beach and miniature train pecorama. The South West coast path also runs through Lyme Regis, making it easy to plan pretty walks; why not pack a picnic and eat in the fresh air for a scenic day out?

Step through the front door into the porch, a handy spot for kicking off sandy shoes before heading into the welcoming living room. This inviting space is all set up for relaxation, with comfortable seating, a smart tv and a warming wood burner to keep you snug on cooler evenings. From here, the layout flows through to the kitchen/diner, where you can dine under a glass ceiling which floods the kitchen with plenty of light all day long. French doors open directly onto the rear garden, making this a sociable and elegant setting for meals and easy indoor-outdoor living. Head up to the first floor to find two inviting bedrooms: a double bedroom and a bunk room. A gleaming white family bathroom completes the upper level.

After a day out, the rear garden offers a lovely place to enjoy al fresco dining or a favourite drink in the fresh coastal air, with exposed stone walls and garden furniture for guests to use on the lower level, as well as a welcoming garden room for relaxing with a morning coffee or an evening drink on the upper level accessed via a few steps. For parking there are several accessible nearby public car parks with handy app payments, or there is street parking available with time limits of between 1 - 2 hours. There is no vehicle access to the house due to width restrictions.

We had a fantastic stay in Rose Cottage. The location was perfect for us, with easy access to the town, the park, the promenade and the coast path. The sun room, garden and garden room really made the lovely accommodation extra special. We spent a great day relaxing at the cottage in the summerhouse, even when it rained. Lovely being on a road withRead more no traffic on too. Hide
