Set in a quaint village in the heart of the Ribble Valley, also known as the wedding capital of the North, the cottage welcomes up to four guests, plus canine companions, for exhilarating days out in the Forest of Bowland and the Yorkshire Dales. The charming village of Whalley, just 1.2 miles and the vibrant market town of Clitheroe is just 4 miles away, dominated by its Norman castle keep and offering a varied selection of shops and places to eat. For a fabulous walk and incredible views from the summit, climb Pendle Hill (in what’s known as ‘witch country’), 2 miles away, or follow the 5.5-mile Tolkien Trail, which starts in Hurst Green (6 miles) for the beautiful scenery which inspired the author of The Lord of the Rings. The edge of the Yorkshire Dales is less than 20 miles away or, for a completely different day out, you can reach the bright lights of Blackpool in just 32 miles.

When you step into this handsome holiday escape, you’ll immediately notice the delightful combination of original beams and exposed stone with modern flair and furnishings. The elegant lounge boasts soft seating snuggled around a wood-burner-effect electric fire, and has a Smart TV for entertainment. Little ones can watch their own programmes on the Smart TV in the second living room, or this could be a great spot for some quiet time with a good book. The bright and airy kitchen/diner is a lovely space in which to spend time cooking up delicious meals, aided by a range of equipment that includes a microwave and a dishwasher. On the first floor, two elegant bedrooms offer tranquil spaces in which to unwind, both with beautiful furniture, lovely linens and dreamy, soft colours. They share a family bathroom which has the advantage of a shower over the bath, ideal for long soaks or refreshing rinses.

Step out of the back door and into the garden, where there’s an area of lawn for children to play, sun loungers, and a patio where you can grill treats on the BBQ. Making arriving and departing easy, you’ll also have off-road parking for two cars adjacent to the house.

Situated in a picturesque village, the property provided us with a calm and tranquil space, both outside and inside. It adequately fitted our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) and was Immaculately presented. The cottage contained all equipment to meet our needs during our stay. I would definitely recommend Buckley Cottage if youre looking for a hoRead moreme away from home. Hide
