An attractive retreat in the bustling market town of Skipton, this enticing apartment makes an ideal base for exploring North Yorkshire. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom property sits across the first and second floors of a Victorian townhouse, just 150 metres from the centre of the vibrant town. Choose between an array of restaurants, pubs and cafes and browse the independent shops, as well as the colourful stalls on the four-times-weekly market. Visit the medieval castle and take a boat ride along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. Known as the southern gateway to the Dales, the location is also perfect for forays into your picturesque surroundings. Plan a trip to Malham, 11 miles away, to visit the famous tarn and cove. While you are here, make time to see the waterfall at Janet’s Foss and wander through scenic Gordale Scar. Plan a day out to Bolton Abbey, 6.5 miles away.

Make your way up to the apartment via a flight of external steps. Open the door and enter to find exquisitely finished accommodation that still presents original features and is sympathetic to the 1850s heritage of the property. You’ll find bespoke furnishings and hand-crafted joinery and fixtures throughout. Head down the hallway to the modern kitchen, with ample space for food storage and preparation, as well as all the equipment you will need for self-catering. As supper roasts in the oven, head into the lounge/diner to settle back on the plush sofa in front of the Smart TV. When it is time to eat, set the antique-style dining table and slide onto the beautiful bench, which has been handmade from a reclaimed church pew. As night falls over Yorkshire, head into one of the two sumptuous bedrooms. One of these is a king room, which has clothes storage, panelled walls and darkening blinds, and is set on the lower level of the duplex. The other, with a vaulted ceiling, original beams, good storage and air-conditioning, is set on the floor above. This room has a Yorkshire Rose stained glass window and is served by a chic en-suite shower room. The impressive family bathroom, with its beautiful bath and separate shower, is also up here.

Enjoy the fresh air and sunshine out in your private courtyard garden on fine days. Sip fresh coffee from the machine at the table with views towards the church during the day. Relax in the ambience of the LED lighting at night. This apartment provides off-road parking for two cars and offers bike storage.

This property is a real gem. The conversion has been done to a very high standard and the interior design shows flare and imagination. It has period charm, as well every modern convenience. The beds are comfortable and it is spotlessly clean. Its location in a quiet street within a stones throw of the town centre means that you can explore SkiptoRead moren and walk to the numerous restaurants and coffee shops with ease. Skipton is an excellent centre for visiting landmark places of interest, such as York and its Cathedral, Bettys in Harrogate, Castle Howard and Grassington(where they film All Creatures Great and Small). At the station, you can catch the train to travel on the world famous Settle to Carlisle line with spectacular views. Hide

This cottage in Skipton as been converted to the highest level by the owners. They have put careful thought into absolutely everything you will require for a holiday away from home. I liked the quality appliances and plentiful china/glasses/cooking utensils available in the kitchen. The location is wonderful and in 7 days we did not use our vehiclRead moree at all. Nothing was too much trouble for the very helpful and polite owners. We would love to return. Many thanks. Hide
