Absolutely wonderful holiday in this cottage. The cottage had everything I needed and was cozy and dry even in a very wet and cold February. The garden was close and secure with beautiful views. A beautiful, well equipped cottage. The associated, secure, garden space was perfect for our dogs and had fantastic views of Scarfell Pike and its surrounding mountains. The shower was easy to operate and the immersion heater meant we had hot water on demand when required. The beach is just a 12 minute drive away for the dogs. Access to the Lakes iRead mores easy within an hour or so but Id suggest avoiding Wrynose Pass in the wet unless you have a 4x4. Great views on that route and our 4x4 was fine. Hide

The location is a little remote but the surrounding countryside is spectacular. Ideal spot to visit Munster Castle which is beautiful, a real must is Ravenglass steam railway takes approx 40mins both ways. Buttermere whilst beautiful the parking is appalling, we couldn't find a place to stop. Wast water is a real gem and great for swimming. The neaRead morerby beach is a lovely walk and the dogs loved it. The nearby pub is friendly but the food is very basic. Hide
