A stay in this stone-built cottage in Winster places friends and family in one of the Peak District’s most charming and historic villages. From your doorstep, wander through the conservation village, home to around 70 listed buildings, narrow ginnels and the 17th-century Market House. Walkers can join sections of the Limestone Way or choose from several circular routes leading towards Elton, Birchover and Youlgreave, where wide valley views, rocky outcrops and rural lanes reward every step. Matlock (5 miles) and Matlock Bath (6 miles) boast riverside strolls, family attractions and the famous cable cars at the Heights of Abraham. A little further, the magnificent Chatsworth House (9 miles) promises grand gardens, woodland trails and impressive art collections. And of course, no visit is complete without popping to Bakewell (6 miles) for its riverside paths, independent shops and the iconic Bakewell pudding.

Enter into the bright and practical kitchen with a dining table for four and an extended prep area to make tasty meals together. To the left, the inviting lounge awaits, featuring soft, cosy seating and a glowing wood burner that sets the scene for relaxed evenings in while watching a film on the Smart TV. Head upstairs to find a spacious super-king zip-and-link bedroom, offering flexible sleeping arrangements, alongside a small double. The stylish bathroom awaits, boasting a luxurious freestanding bath and a walk-in shower for a soak or rinse after a busy day.

Outside, enjoy an enclosed, private patio garden designed for al fresco dining and lazy morning coffees, where you can sit and watch the world go by while admiring the stunning views. With your own dedicated parking space for one car, coming and going is hassle-free, and there’s further parking on the street if needed.

Lovely cottage in a very quiet village. Small welcome pack was appreciated. The locals we met were very friendly and the community shop was well stocked and with excellent service.
