Property code: OC-W34380

Imaginatively designed by a leading Grand Designs architect, this magnificent hideaway offers bright and relaxing accommodation for families and friends keen to discover the historic town of Leominster and the surrounding Marches. The property is just a quarter of a mile from the centre of Leominster, a thriving town which retains much of its medieval and Tudor heritage, with narrow streets and half-timbered buildings alongside graceful Georgian terraces. Midway between the Shropshire Hills and the Malvern Hills (both within 15 miles), Leominster makes a wonderful base for following both the Black and White Village Trail and the Wye Valley Walk, and for exploring Mortimer Country, with local landmarks including Burton Court, Berrington Hall and Hampton Court Castle, all within 5 miles. Ludlow lies just across the border in Shropshire (12 miles), home to the atmospheric remains of the 11th-century Ludlow Castle.

A gated entrance leads you through the delightful garden, with a path wending its way to this eye-catching property. Stepping inside the elegantly designed retreat, the hallway has plenty of room for leaving boots and coats before you head through to the spacious lounge. With a Smart TV, a roaring wood burner and plush seating, the beautifully arranged lounge also benefits from floor-to-ceiling windows offering charming views across the garden. Exploring this fabulous hideaway further, the vast open-plan kitchen/diner provides a memorable space for everyone to get together and relax after a fantastic day out. The thoughtfully organised kitchen has a wealth of equipment, with a central island making an ideal spot for preparing family meals and for enjoying a light snack or a hearty breakfast. To one side, the chic dining area sits beneath a high skylight set in the vaulted ceiling, allowing natural light to flood in. The ground floor also offers a shower room and a handy utility cupboard. When it's time to turn in for the night, the first two of the property's three elegant bedrooms are on the ground floor: a relaxing king-size, and a charming Super- king-size room which can be made up as a twin on request. The final bedroom is upstairs – a stylish suite with a sumptuous super-king-size bed, and a day bed that can be made into 2 small beds suitable for children, and a refreshing en-suite bathroom.

Stepping outside, the generous enclosed gardens wrap around the property, featuring a lovely terraced area with ample seating and providing a wonderfully relaxing spot for summer dining. Private off-road parking is available for two cars plus one permit for roadside parking and there is a public car park 25 yards away.

The house is beautifully spacious and incredibly well equipped, especially the kitchen. Rooms are comfortable and the beds are too, with really high quality bed linen. One of the few places we have stayed where they provide proper bath sheets and not just bath towels which is wonderful if you are taller or larger. Despite being so close to tRead moreown, it is surprisingly quiet, and with the large garden and wildlife visitors, you almost feel like you're in the countryside rather than a minute or two from the nearest shop. The driveway is incredibly narrow, but if you have a larger vehicle, the hosts provide a permit to park just outside the property. There is a metal gate that you need to unlock on the drive, this fooled me on arrival as I was worried it was the wrong place, but the What3Words you are provided with take you to the right place. Plenty of places around the area to explore and visit. The host was lovely and comms were great, not at all intrusive but very welcoming, a lovely place to stay. Hide

A beautiful and comfortable stylishly designed house with seriously comfortable beds and all that you could need for your holiday. The house is very conveniently located close to amenities but is set well back from the road so is quiet. They are not joking when they say the driveway is tight for larger cars!....definitely easier to reverse out, anRead mored get someone to watch you. It is like taking a holiday in a 'Grand Designs' house....Amie the owner is very easy to contact and v helpful. Hide

The owner, who is delightful, had thought of everything like foil, cling film, dishwasher tablets and had left a very generous welcome basket which made things so easy. The beautiful light filled home was very high quality with a gorgeous kitchen and lovely spacious living room. The beds were very comfy. We appreciated the comfort of high quality Read morelinen too. The local supermarkets couldn't have been more convenient. The surrounding countryside was stunning with so many interesting places close at hand. eg Ludlow with it's fascinating castle, national trust places for all tastes, great food and lovely cafes some overlooking rivers. Something to do whatever the weather. We preferred to park on the road and the parking voucher made it super easy. Hide
