This quintessential Yorkshire cottage offers fresh and cheerful accommodation for couples and smaller families keen to discover the majestic countryside of the Yorkshire Dales. You’ll find the property in Burtersett, a quiet village ideally located for walkers, nature lovers, and fellow outdoor enthusiasts eager to explore the beautiful surrounding landscapes. Hawes (1 mile) is a bustling market town with a wealth of great places to eat and drink, with popular attractions including the Wensleydale Creamery, Gayle Mill, and the Dales Countryside Museum. The River Ure runs through the town, offering tranquil walking routes towards Garsdale Head in the west (7.5 miles) and Aysgarth Falls in the east (9 miles). Exploring the area further, popular sites include Hardraw Force, Cotter Force, Bolton Castle, and Cauldron Falls (all within 12 miles).

Before stepping into this inviting cottage, take a moment to admire its peaceful position in the heart of a traditional village with other stone-built cottages. Head inside, kick off muddy walking boots in the hallway, and venture deeper into the home. A ground-floor shower room offers an easy way to refresh after outdoor adventures, before moving through to the country-style kitchen to cook up a Yorkshire feast. Find all you need in this well-appointed space for a self-catered getaway, including ample storage. Enjoy the chosen chef’s work in the cosy lounge/diner, where a round table sits in the light of the window. After each meal, sink into the lounge space’s soft seating to fire up the crackling wood burner and find your favourite shows on the Smart TV. At the end of each busy day away, head upstairs and retire to a choice of two cheerful bedrooms, both of which offer lovely views over the Dales. Choose from a master king-size room and a restful twin. A first-floor WC completes the interior.

Step outside to a small seating area at the rear of the house offering a lovely spot for quiet morning coffee and evening tipples. A handy outhouse stands ready for bike storage. A shared driveway offers first-come, first-served parking for one car, while further on-street parking can be found further up the village.
