This cottage was in a perfect location for where we wanted to go. The views from the windows were breathtaking, and it was amazing waking up to that. The beds were very comfortable. We parked by the village hall which was perfect and you can tuck in quite well there as well.

A wonderful place in an amazing location. Beautiful views of the fells. Cosy and clean cottage. The bed was super comfortable. It was lovely and quiet and the village farm shop was great for fresh bread and milk. Hikes, runs and cycles right from the village, and generally not far to get to fantastic places. Cockermouth is only a 10-minute drive awRead moreay, which is really handy. We went to the Kirkstile Inn for dinner one evening (as recommended in the property welcome folder) and it was superb. Lovely cottage, great location. Wonderful holiday. But check particulars as no bean bags, tv or working wood burner in games room. Which was really disappointing ad wr booked this so our teenage kids had their own space. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk - Thank you for your comments, we can confirm that the owners have now updated the games roomRead more space. Hide

Very well equipped and clean with attractive quality furnishings, kitchenware, etc. Beautiful spot in middle of hamlet. Charming nearby village shop and public garden by stream to sit in. Easy access to hills for walking.

What a beautiful place to stay! Cosy, comfortable and very well equipped. Beautiful views from every window and walks in all directions. Would suggest walking around Buttermere (mid-week is quieter), ferry and walk around Derwentwater, forest walks in Whinlatter and coastal walks at St Bees.
