The North Yorkshire village of Ramsgill is set in breathtaking Nidderdale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The cottage is also perfect for exploring the Dales, with Brimham Rocks (9 miles), Stump Cross Caverns (9 miles), and Pateley Bridge (5 miles) all nearby. No trip to this area would be complete without a day out in the spa town of Harrogate (20 miles) – this elegant town is bursting at the seams with antique shops, cafés, independent boutiques, restaurants and, of course, the famous tea rooms. There are no limits to the number of cycling trails and walking routes you can explore, or visit the nearby Gouthwaite Reservoir for some spectacular waterside views. Yorkshire is renowned for its annual cycling event, the Tour de Yorkshire, and welcomes many cyclists to the area.

This charming, semi-detached, stone-built cottage sits back in a peaceful location and offers everything you need for a relaxing stay. The cosy living room, with a traditional beamed ceiling, open fire, and a comfortable sofa with warm throws, invites you to grab a good book, curl up and relax. There’s a Smart TV with an Amazon Firestick, as well as games and books to keep you entertained. The kitchen has stylish shaker-style units and oak worktops, and is fully equipped with an electric hob and oven, a slim dishwasher, and a fridge. The cupboards are stocked with all the equipment you’ll need during your stay. Gather at the table to enjoy your home-cooked meal, enjoying the pretty view out to the cottage garden and its local birdlife that frequent the feeders. Return from your walk via the rear entrance which lets you into a handy utility room – perfect if you are a bit wet or muddy! Hang your coats to dry and wash any of your clothes in the washing machine. You will also discover a freezer and a downstairs WC. When it's time to turn in, head upstairs to bed; there are three attractively dressed bedrooms – a double and two single bedrooms. Start your morning refreshed by having a nice hot shower in the shower room with a WC.

The cottage is gifted with two wonderful outdoor spaces for you to either enjoy your morning brew or an evening glass of wine. The front garden is busy with local birds and has a well-positioned bench where you can sit quietly and take in this tranquil spot. Or, dine alfresco while admiring the hills and moor from your enclosed private patio at the back of the cottage. There is off-street parking (subject to availability).

We loved The Nook. It met our needs completely, particularly for the dogs. The utility room was great for them to sleep in and the back yard provided a safe space outside. The heating system was v good, and the cottage was very cosy overall. The single beds were narrow which our two adult users found a bit uncomfortable. Everything else, including Read morethe excellent shower, was brilliant. Location is quite remote, nearest town 4 miles on very windy roads, but we loved the isolation and peace. Hide

Copy to Dear Rural Cleans. We hope we've left the cottage (almost) as found. We've reported to the Holiday Support Team Team (with no response):- 1. The blocked drain. Thursday the water almost covered the grills and hence into the cottage. 2. The washing machine. Had to stop it half way thro it was banging so loudly and the bottom panel was shakenRead more free with the vibrations. (Socks and T shirts only) Also mentioned the sad state of the yard. Otherwise a clean and welcoming cottage. Many Thanks Hide

The Nook is a very comfortable cottage in a beautiful area. It is well-furnished and the decor is quirky and attractive with lots of bird themed items. Brilliant cottage in a great quiet location. Generally a very lovely place to stay!! Friendly neighbours were nice. The cottage is well maintained and comfortable with quirky animal theme decor. Feeding the birds gave hours of enjoyment watching them fly around.

We have just enjoyed 5 nights in The Nook. We found it comfortable and homely. The beds are comfy and the area is peaceful and quiet. We have chatted to neighbours on both sides who were very friendly. The rear courtyard was safe for our dog if a bit small but there's plenty of good walks roundabout. The front garden was full of wildflowers which aRead morere great for the birds but could maybe have been trimmed back a little bit to enable the space to be seen to it's best advantage. We would stay again Hide
