This ancient stone barn, enjoys a lovely position in the heart of a village in the spectacular landscape of the Peak District. The village is famous as a ‘plague village,’ one of the areas that went into voluntary quarantine during the plague of 1655. Many of the old village buildings retain their original features giving the village an enchanting, historical feel. The nearby Eyam Moor offers wonderful walks and far-reaching views across the Derwent Valley. After guests have worked up an appetite out on the moors, they can head back to the local village pub, the Miners Arms for a spot of recuperation. For those seeking culture, a short drive takes guests to the impressive country houses of Chatsworth and Haddon hall.

The property benefits from underfloor heating throughout the ground floor and embraces open plan living. The spacious living area has a stone fireplace with electric effect wood burning stove and exposed wood beams that add to the room’s character. The dining area is a lovely space for entertaining.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms. Sloping, part vaulted ceilings provide a wonderful country chic to the rooms. The largest of the three bedrooms is the master, and has an impressive arched window which frames the captivating views of the village and Eyam Edge. The bedroom contains a super king size bed and also has its own en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath, toilet and hand basin. The second bedroom is a delightful twin bedroom which can be made into a super king bed if requested at the time of booking, benefiting from a large feature window which overlooks the courtyard. The bedroom also has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and hand basin. The final bedroom is a good size twin bedroom which can be made into a super king bed if requested at the time of booking, with an en-suite shower room with a shower, toilet and hand basin.

Outside there is a sheltered courtyard which makes a great spot for a BBQ and al fresco dining.
