Bakewell and the Peak District offer a huge variety of things to do and places to go, whether you prefer attractions such as Chatsworth or Haddon Hall, visiting the numerous market towns and villages, sampling the delights of local markets or exploring everything the great outdoors has to offer. Bakewell is one of the most popular towns in the Peak District, offering a range of shops, galleries, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The local area is well served for cyclists, as Bakewell lies at the start of the Monsal Trail, one of three car-free walking and cycling trails in this part of the Peak District. The rolling limestone hills of the White Peak and the dramatic moorlands and gritstone edges of the Dark Peak provide endless opportunities for exploring via the extensive network of public footpaths and open access land.

You will enter the property into the bright and airy kitchen/diner which has a welcoming feel. Enjoy spending time cooking a special meal for loved ones as the kitchen is well-equipped offering a electric range oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Gather around the breakfast bar or the dining table which is ideally situated in front of the bi-fold doors overlooking the garden. There is a utility room with washing machine and plenty of space for storing muddy boots and wet coats, there is also a handy separate WC. The lounge has a sense of grandeur with the high ceiling and bright bay window, thus providing an inviting space to put your feet up on the comfy sofas in front of the Smart TV, with the wood burner crackling in the background. The dining area is a beautiful space for a celebration dinner with loads of character and style. Heading up to the first floor, the attention to detail continues, you will find four king-size bedrooms complimented with pretty soft furnishings. There is also a twin bedroom which is ideal for the children. To get you ready for the day ahead, there is a stylish bathroom with shower over bath and WC and a further shower room with shower and WC.

Enjoy lazy summer evenings relaxing in the garden which is fully enclosed. The split level space offers patios with outdoor seating and areas of lawn to make the most of the summer sun. There is a fun table tennis table in the garage. There is off-road parking for two or three cars.

This is a lovely, characterful property. We visited in Feb but it was still cosy with heating and log fire which is much needed as it isn't double glazed. The garden is well enclosed for dogs/children. The living area is a bit snug for 10 people but generally specious elsewhere. 2 fridges and range cooker in well equipped kitchen. Bedrooms are veryRead more spacious with good quality mattresses and bedding etc. Showers have a good level of power and plenty of hot water available at all times. Hide

On our first morning we had no hot water. Karen who looks after the property, although on holiday, was very quick to reply and the owner Rob couldn't have been more helpful. Thank you. The property is a beautiful home, extremely clean, is equipped with everything and the location is great. We will be back.

Nice house, comfortable beds, quick walk into the centre which is good because parking in Bakewell is very difficult. Town centre and shops are very dog friendly, which is great.

We've just got back from the loveliest stay at Fox House! This was our first time in Bakewell and the house is in the perfect location. The house was super clean and very spacious for four adults, two kids and one dog. We'd 100% book Fox House again if we came back to Bakewell!

This is a really lovely house and is perfect for family or group holidays. It is very tastefully appointed and suited our party of 5 women very well. It's location is perfect for a stroll in to town and there is plenty to do and see in the local area. The only slight concern is the drive which is not big enough for 3 family sized cars. Fortunately Read morefor us one of our 3 cars was small and could fit in the garage, otherwise we would have had to park it on a side street. Hide

A lovely property in easy reach of the town but dogs are only welcome on the ground floor. The off road parking is only suitable for 2 family cars but there is limited on road parking for a third car, although the road was busier than expected.
