This stunning lodge is surrounded by open fields in the Kincardine and Mearns area of Aberdeenshire. The holiday retreat, which sits just outside the rural village of Marykirk, sleeps four guests (with a further two on a sofa bed) and suits active families and groups of friends looking to explore the breathtaking coast and countryside of eastern Scotland. Keen walkers will be in their element, with easy access to the Angus Glens, 30 miles away. For anglers, the River North Esk passes nearby, offering excellent opportunities for trout and salmon fishing. Heading to the coast, you can spend the day exploring the bustling towns of Montrose (6.5 miles) and Stonehaven (19 miles), or enjoy a relaxing afternoon at Lunan Bay (11 miles) or St Cyrus (6 miles), two of Scotland’s finest beaches. There are some fantastic attractions in the local area, including Drumtochty Castle, Dunnottar Castle and Fettercairn Distillery (all within 20 miles).

The lodge is built from Scottish Douglas firs, giving it a unique and striking appearance. Inside, gorgeous, exposed woodwork creates a warm and inviting ambience, and you’ll notice little nods to the property’s Scottish heritage in the accessories and soft furnishings. At the heart of the home is a spacious lounge/kitchen/diner with far-reaching rural views and a roaring wood burner for chilly nights. Relax in here after a long walk, immersed in your holiday read or catching up on your favourite programmes on the Smart TV. The kitchen area has everything needed to whip up hearty feasts using delicious local ingredients, and you can sit down for mealtimes together at the dining table or outside on the patio. The lodge has an inviting double bedroom on the ground floor and a large, open-plan double on the first floor. Please note, this room has a sloping ceiling, and you may experience restricted head height in some areas. A sofa bed is also provided, accommodating a further two guests if required. Rounding off the accommodation is a stylish shower room located on the ground floor.

Immediately outside the lodge is a west-facing, decked terrace with outdoor furniture, a fire pit and spectacular views towards the Grampian Hills. To the rear of the property is an attractive garden with a patio, raised lawn, outdoor furniture, a BBQ and an outdoor bar area. You’ll also have your own private hot tub set under a pretty pergola – perfect for soothing weary legs after a long hike. Private parking is available for two cars.
