This pretty cottage is located in Eype, one of West Dorset’s most beautiful villages. Shingled Eype Beach, 0.5 miles away, is a great destination for a fresh-air walk or fossil hunting, and you can extend your stroll along the South West Coast Path, which runs along the scenic Jurassic Coast. Family-friendly West Bay Beach is only 3 miles by car or 1.5 miles on foot. From West Bay, you can also take a fast-paced boat trip or a leisurely coastal cruise, enjoying views of sandstone cliffs and hidden beaches. The Symondsbury Estate, just 1.5 miles away, offers four walking routes that take in sunken lanes, rolling fields, lush hedgerows and spectacular views, and is also home to some unique boutique shops. In Bridport, 1 mile away, you’ll find a fascinating antiques quarter as well as a vibrant mix of shops and places to eat. Lyme Regis and Abbotsbury are only 9 miles away.

Dating back around 300 years, the property perfectly blends historic character and modern comfort. Enter directly into the open-plan living space, where pale walls and golden-timber floors contrast with rugged, dark beams. After days spent exploring, sink into the soft seating for an evening around the wood burner, with a good book or the Smart TV for entertainment. The kitchen includes an array of equipment, including a microwave, food mixer and coffee machine, and you’ll serve delicious meals at the farmhouse-style dining table, which provides space for everyone to gather together. Take four steps up from the living room to reach a utility room with a washing machine as well as a delightful single bedroom. On the first floor, accessed via open-tread, cottage-style stairs, are two more beautifully designed bedrooms: a double with incredible views and another double. On this level, you’ll also find the sweet family shower room.

Just outside the back door, a decked area includes a sofa set to seat 5, where you can sip a morning coffee or a sundowner while admiring extraordinary rural views. Take three steps down to reach the sloping lawn, leading to lower deck with dining table to seat 5 with parasol and fire pit. The garden is fully enclosed by tall hedges and a great place for dogs to run around or for humans to bask in the hammock. As for parking, when arriving and departing, you can briefly stop outside the cottage, but otherwise one space is allocated in a nearby private car park.

Absolutely loved this cottage and the garden which was completely safe for our dog. Fabulous weather meant we sat in the garden a huge amount, enjoying the peace and quiet. If you like a quiet, calm, peaceful holiday, this is the cottage for you. Fab beach just a 10 minute walk. Loved it!!!

This lovely charming character cottage provides everything needed for a comfortable, cosy enjoyable stay. It is very well equipped plus there were many thoughtful extras and treats provided on arrival, meaning we could quickly settle in beside the roaring log fire. The beach, the Eypesmouth Hotel, and the facilities, bar and shop of the neighbourRead moreing Highlands End farm are only a little walk away(this farm is through the Church cemetery and along a short path).Gentle peaceful Eype itself is a brilliant base to relax, but close to the Town, and to many other seaside bays and country attractions. We definitely plan to make a third trip there. Our first was in summer, so we can recommend this village as a year round destination. Hide
