This former fisherman’s cottage is in a quiet, pedestrianised area in the Cornish town of St Ives. The cottage sleeps four guests, with a further two accommodated in the self-contained studio. St Ives is bursting with charm, with cobbled streets, quirky shops, and independent eateries. Art enthusiasts will be in their element, with studios and galleries dotted throughout the town, including The Tate and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden (both 0.5 miles). St Ives is home to some of Cornwall’s finest beaches, including the stunning Porthmeor Beach (less than 0.5 miles), which is known for its soft, golden sand and excellent surfing conditions. Nearby attractions include The Minack Theatre, Land’s End, and St Michael’s Mount (all within 20 miles).

The cottage is warm and inviting, with charming original features sitting alongside cute, beach-themed accessories and homely touches. Three steep steps lead to the cottage’s front door, and into the kitchen/diner. Here, you’ll find all the equipment needed for a self-catering getaway, along with a wooden dining table for sharing mealtimes. From here, move through to the cosy lounge, where comfortable seating is arranged around a Smart TV. Upstairs, you’ll find a pretty double bedroom with floral fabrics and sweet, wooden furniture. The second is a bunk bedroom that’s ideal for children. A refreshing shower room completes the main cottage. Back outside, the studio is adjacent to the cottage and is reached via the pedestrian pathway and a gate into an enclosed patio. Inside, the self-contained accommodation boasts fresh, coastal-themed decor and comprises a double bed and an en-suite shower room.

Outside, the studio has a sunny patio area with furniture for al fresco dining. A parking space for one car is provided (approx. 1 mile from the cottage) and loading/unloading is permitted 300 metres away.

This cottage is very pleasant to stay in and it is very well equipped. We had a good week and we would recommend it. It is in a good location very close to Porthmeor beach and not far from Fore Street via The Digey
